MONROE/MADISON - Theodore "Ted" Bast, age 57, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at HospiceCare in Fitchburg. Ted was born on May 22, 1952, the son of Theodore J. and Virginia (Reese) Bast in Madison. He attended Memorial High School and graduated from Wisconsin Heights High School. Ted was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed many camping and canoe trips down the Wisconsin River with his children. Ted also had a passion for his Harley. He was a devoted employee of Attic Angels in Madison for 34 years until his illness made it no longer possible for him to work.

Ted is survived by his daughter, Tara (fiancé James Loeffelholtz), 26; two sons, Jacob, 19, Blake, 14; two step children, Kyle, 22, and Ashley, 20. He is further survived by his sister, Jennifer (David) Hopper, and brother, Jonathan (partner Jeffrey Yack) Bast. Ted was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and a sister, Patricia (James) Burleson.

A memorial celebration of Ted's life will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison, with visitation from 3 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy., Madison, WI 53711.
