FREEPORT - Susan E. Sloatman, 77, of Freeport, passed away from Alzheimer's, a disease that robbed her of her dignity, at her home on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 23, 1940 in Monroe, WI to Albert and Marianna (Schmid) Leibfried. She attended Winslow High School. Susan married Terry Sloatman on March 23, 1969 at the Nora Community Church. She owned and operated Susan's Country Beauty Shop, out of her home. Susan was also employed at the Lena Continental Manor and JoAnn Fabrics.

She attended Martintown Community Church. Susan enjoyed needlework, quilting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed going for rides with Terry in his semi, going shopping, cooking, watching television, especially the TLC channel. Susan liked anything that sparkled and spending time with her family. She always had a smile for everybody.

Susan is survived by her husband Terry of Freeport; children- Katharine (Craig) Edler of Browntown, WI, Kathleen (Frederick) Hagen of Winslow, IL, Lori (James) Goonan of Manitowoc, WI, Stacy (Randy Rowley) Sloatman of Apple River, IL, and Chad Sloatman of Freeport; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister Lynn (Bob) Lyvers.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Martintown Community Church, in Martintown, WI.

A visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Martintown Community Church.

Burial will be at Lena Burial park in Lena.

Pastor Kevin Cernek will officiate the services.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
