Stanley L. Johnson age 75 of rural Monroe, Wisconsin died Monday, October 28, 2013 at his home. He was born January 5, 1938 in Adams Township, Green County, Wisconsin the son of Ancil and Magnil (Gilbertson) Johnson.
Stanley married Beverly Patchen December 12, 1959 at Albany Baptist Church. Stan farmed in Adams Township until 1959, worked at General Motors in Janesville, Albany Police Department, farmed in rural Albany, worked for Schlittler Construction Company in Brodhead, Decatur Township, and Footville Rock & Lime Co. Stan was a member of Sugar River Coon Hunters Association, helped with many Demolition Derbys, enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Surviving are his son, Scott (Danielle) Johnson of rural Monroe; daughter Laurie (Brad) Phillips of Juda; sister, Elaine Olson of Madison; grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Phillips, Lindsy Phillips, Payton Johnson, and Brielle Hayden; great-grandchildren, Sawyer & Ashlynn Phillips; and many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Beverly; and son, Wayne Johnson.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive and N. 18th Avenue in Monroe.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 1, 2013 at Albany Lions Club 402 N. Cincinnati Street in Albany, WI with Pastor Pat Soddy officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany.
A Memorial Fund is being established in Stanley's memory.
