Shirley A. Baebler, age 78 of Monticello, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. Shirley was born May 18, 1932 in Spring Grove Township, Green County, Wisconsin, the daughter of John C. and Crystal (Patriquen) Rosheisen. She graduated from Juda High School in 1950 and married Hollis J. Baebler on February 16, 1951 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brodhead. She farmed with her husband in Mt. Pleasant Township for many years. Shirley and Hollis and later their son, Rick, owned and operated Baebler Electric in Monticello from 1972 until 2008.

She was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello, Monticello F.F.A. Alumni, and was a former 4-H Leader. Shirley enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and gardening.

She is survived by three children, Holly (Ken) Warner of Rib Lake, WI, John J. (Kathy) Baebler, and Rick Baebler, all of Monticello; and six grandchildren, Greg (Shelly) Parker, John R. Baebler, Nicole Baebler, Kallista Baebler, Tristin and Sadie Jo Flanagan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hollis, on August 30, 2001; and a sister, Betty Louise in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at 12:15 p.m., at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, with Rev. Lawrence Balleine officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, Monticello. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Shirley's name for Zwingli U.C.C. and Monticello F.F.A.
