Rose I. Nafzger-Binger, age 85 of Juda, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 peacefully into the glorious presence of her Lord and Savior at the home of her daughter.
Rose was born September 19, 1922 in rural Brodhead, the daughter of William and Augusta (Nenneman) Lentz. On June 15, 1937 at the age of 14, Rose came to a saving knowledge of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She married Fred E. Nafzger on November 10, 1943 at the Gospel Hall in Brodhead. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1971.
Rose married Russell Binger on March 25, 1981 in Juda. He died on March 28, 2002.
Rose farmed in Sylvester Township her entire life. She loved the outdoors, animals, tending to her huge garden, and playing many instruments by ear. She had a tender heart towards God and spent much time in prayer.
Survivors include eight children, Ralph (Sharon) Nafzger of Monticello, Caroline (Stanley) Hawkinson of Brooklyn, James (Joanne) Nafzger of Albany, John (Teresa) Nafzger of Brodhead, Elizabeth (John) Lyons of Roscoe, IL, Fred Nafzger Jr. and Roy Nafzger, both of Juda, and Lorraine (Scott) Blumer of Monroe; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lillian in infancy; a son, Stanley Nafzger; a grandson, Victor Nafzger; two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, with Mike Wenger and Chris Kneubuehl officiating.
