Rose Bruegger Lenzi, age 100 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born July 22, 1909 at Boyceville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Jacob and Albertina (Schenk) Wyss.

Rose and Herman Bruegger Sr. were married on October 18, 1928 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe and they farmed in Green County until they moved to Florida in 1973. Rose later married Alfred F. Lenzi on November 19, 1977 at Leesburg, Florida and they moved to Monroe, Wisconsin in 1984. Rose worked as a sales clerk at Gimbels in Madison during the 1960s.

Surviving are her children, Robert (Carol) Bruegger of Windsor, WI, Stanley (Jackie) Bruegger of Lena, IL, William (Cathy) Bruegger of Tucson, AZ, and Natalie (John) Smith of Lake Wales, FL; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husbands, Herman Bruegger Sr. in 1977 and Alfred Lenzi in 1983; son, Herman Bruegger, Jr.; grandson, Scott Bruegger; great-great-granddaughter, Emma Bruegger; brother, Jacob Wyss; and sisters, Margaret Hartwig, Elda Wald, Laura Mahlkuch, and Frieda Laeser.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe with Pastor Steven Owen officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg, Florida.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
