Ronald R. Mabie, age 89 of Albany, died on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at his home. He was born on June 29, 1928 in Janesville, the son of Ellsworth and Cecil (Roberts) Mabie. Ronald was a 1946 graduate of Albany High School.

Ronald and Tommie Davis were united in marriage on August 4, 1951 in Corpus Christi, TX; she preceded him in death on January 4, 1990.

Ronald served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force from July 12, 1949 until he retired from the military on February 28, 1970. After retiring from the military, he was the manager of the Doyan & Rayne Lumber Company in Albany for 10 years.

He enjoyed Nascar and was an avid hunter.

He was a lifetime member of the Hartline Hunting Group since high school.

He is survived by his children: Terry (Gordon) Klossner of Albany, Georgia (Jim) Runaas of Albany and Rhonda (Gregg) Peckham of Evansville; sister, Karen Austin of Florida; 10 grandchildren, Johnye (Ed) Kitzman, Jennifer (Luke) Buckley, Jessica (Evan) Kottmeyer, Jacob Klossner, Joanna (Joseph) Stephens, Traci (Paul) Clickman, Kim Brewer, Lyndsey Runaas, and Grace and Matthew Peckham; 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and longtime companion Myla Dalen.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at the SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE Funeral Home in Monroe. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany.

Visitation will be Saturday, from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
