Ronald L. Bonjour, age 66, of Gratiot passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at the Freeport Memorial Hospital. He was born October 4, 1946, in Freeport, IL to Elmer and Alta (Albrecht) Bonjour. He graduated from Warren High School in 1964 and later graduated from Morrison Institute of Drafting. He was employed at McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis, where he worked on the Gemini project. He returned to farming in 1966. Ron married Charlotte Rowe on July 12, 1969 in Warren. She passed away in 1982. Together they worked to have a top dairy herd in Lafayette County. He then married Carol (Everson) Schlough in 1983. Along with farming he also worked at H&R Block for 15 years doing taxes. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and cooking. He also enjoyed the family rivalries with his beloved Chicago Bears and NASCAR. Some of his greatest joys were spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Carol; children- Deanna (David) Eden of Bushnell, IL, Cara (Brian) Conry of Bentonville, AR, and Thomas Bonjour of Gratiot; step-children- Laurie (Art Patchen) Kuebli of Albany, WI, Jim (Aly) Schlough of Monroe, WI, Jeff (Dawn) Schlough of Browntown, WI; mother Alta Bonjour of Warren; sister Nancy Hahne of Warren; grandchildren- Aaron and Trent Kuebli, Rebekah, Sarah, and Hannah Eden, Johnnie Schlough, Tina (Scott) Crew of Forestville, WI; a great grandson Braden Crew.

He was preceded in death by wife Charlotte, daughter Danielle, father Elmer Bonjour, and step-son John Schlough.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Warren.

Officiating will be Rev. Eric Lundquist and Rev. David Eden.

Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Warren.

A memorial has been established in his name.
