Rolland Robert Zimmerman, 89, of Monticello, WI passed away peacefully on March 24, 2018 at St Mary's Care Center in Madison WI. Born in Monroe, WI to Robert and Alma Zimmerman, he lived most of his life on the family farm in rural Monticello. Rollie raised Registered Angus Beef on the family farm while also working for the Tatge Chemical Company. He enjoyed the outdoor world spending time with his family discovering the natural beauty of So. Western Wisconsin and fishing at the family cottage in Spooner, WI. He was a dedicated fan of the Milwaukee Braves and Brewers.

Rollie leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Janet Bethke Zimmerman. He was devoted to his family and proud of his three children, Gretchen Zimmerman, Beth (Michael) Korth and David (Karen) Zimmerman all of Verona. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Angela (Adam) Pennington, Danny Zimmerman, Mitchell Korth, Kevin (Rachel) Korth; great grandchildren, Finn, Grace and Rose Pennington; nephews John and Matt Rice and their families; and special friends the Stenbroten, Fisher, and Koeppl families. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Zimmerman and a sister and brother-in-law, Dorene and Richard Rice.

The family will receive friends at a Celebration of Life open house and luncheon on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Washington Reformation United Church of Christ, N6026 Church Rd., Monticello, WI. There will be a private family graveside service immediately preceding the life celebration. Memorial donations may be made in Rolland's name to the Washington Reformation Church Sunday School program. The Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, is assisting the family.
