Roger James Wuthrich, age 92 of Monroe passed away on May 9th, 2018 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital.
He was born May 1, 1926 in Clarno Township, the son of Fred and Bertha (Marty) Wuthrich. He attended rural schools in Clarno Township and worked on the family farm until moving to Monroe. Roger and Victoria Jean Corson were married May 28, 1947.
Roger worked for Meyers Cheese Shop while studying electronics with DeVRY Technical Institute and RCA Institute. He then worked for Phillips and Smith Furniture and Appliance, and later Phillips Furniture and Appliance in Monroe as a radio and television technician retiring in 1988.
Roger was a member of the Universalist-Unitarian Church and Smith Lodge #31, F&AM. Roger was active in the Monroe Turn and Schwing Club, Monroe fast pitch softball and baseball, Green County Rifle Club, South Central Wisconsin Archery Club, Argyle Rod and Gun Club, and Willow Acres Deer Camp in Oneida County.
Roger enjoyed walking, biking, and ran in several marathon races. His love of the outdoors took him on many hunting and skiing expeditions to the western United States.
Surviving are his two daughters, Candace Walker and Hollie (Dennis) Pickett both of Monroe, grandchildren, Dennis (Misty) Pickett of Clearwater, Florida, Amanda Field of Monroe, and Tashonarae (Ben) Smith of Monroe, and great-grandchildren, Kala Pickett, Kaleena Pickett, Taylor O'Leksy, Hadyn Field, Wil Smith, and Rylan Smith. He is also survived by his special friend Roselyn Dietmeier. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean, his parents, and brother, Paul.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, May 14th from 3-7 p.m. at the Argyle Rod & Gun Club. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral is assisting the family. A memorial fund will be established. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
