Robert J. "Jim" Zentner age 73 of rural Monticello, died Friday, October 12, 2012 at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home. Jim was born October 23, 1938 in Albany Township, Green County, Wisconsin, the son of Robert C. and Alice E. (Krause) Zentner. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1956 and entered the U.S. Army on Sept. 5, 1956. He was stationed in Germany and attained the rank of Specialist 4th Class before his honorable discharge on Sept. 4, 1958 at Ft. Sheridan, IL. Jim farmed on the Zentner home farm in Exeter Township all of his life.

He is survived by a sister, Marjorie Waelchli of Monroe; a brother, Larry Zentner of rural Monticello; and eleven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Shirley Witt in 1994 and Joyce Birch in 1999; and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Monticello, followed by a luncheon at the Zwingli United Church of Christ fellowship hall. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in Jim's name.
