Ralph J. Bohren, age 78 of Monroe, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at his home surrounded by family.

Ralph was born on August 17, 1931 in Monroe, the son of John and Clara (Kueng) Bohren. He graduated from Mt. Horeb High School in 1949 and was united in marriage to Audrey Roberts on Dec. 29, 1950 in Brodhead.

They were blessed with five children. They farmed west of Monroe for 17 years and Ralph worked as a fuel truck driver for Rufenacht Oil Company for 33 years. He also drove school bus until his retirement in 1997.

Following retirement, Ralph enjoyed driving a shuttle bus for Wilderness Aware in Colorado, driving for Monroe Truck Equipment, and wintering in Texas.

He enjoyed traveling, camping, and NASCAR. He attended Monroe Bible Church and loved visiting with people. His humorous and outgoing personality were loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Bohren of Monroe; four children, Vicki (Phil) DeGruy of Janesville, Kristine (Doug) Wilson of Delhi, IA, Patricia (Dean) Senglaub of Roscoe, IL, and Kevin Bohren of Monroe; and four grandchildren, Nicholas and Scott Wilson, and Robert and Isabella Senglaub.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Bohren; and a sister, Ruth Nichols.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009, at the Monroe Bible Church, 2613 8th Avenue, Monroe. Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl and Pastor Jim Rickers will officiate with interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in Ralph's name.

A special thank you to the physicians, nurses, and staff at the Monroe Clinic Hospital and Monroe Clinic Hospice. The loving care Ralph received will long be remembered and deeply appreciated by his family.
