R. Finley Barry
R. Finley Barry, husband, father, grandfather, and trusted counselor passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2008. Finley, born on March 21, 1922 in Argyle, WI, was the only child of Kit Collentine and William Barry. As a youth he excelled in many sports, developing a life-long passion for baseball and his beloved Badgers. His aunts, Margaret and Mary, along with his parents, instilled the value of education. Finley fulfilled his own educational dream in 1951, when he graduated from UW-Madison Law School. He joined the law firm of Kittleson and Brand and practiced law for over 50 years in Monroe and Argyle.

He was united in marriage to Charleen McGinnis on October 13, 1951 in Darlington, WI. Finley was committed to his community as evidenced by his years of service and philanthropy. He was active with St. Clare Hospital Board of Directors, Knights of Columbus Monroe Council #1471, Green County Bar Association, St. Victor Catholic Church and School, Commercial Bank and Bank of Argyle Board of Directors, Past President of Monroe Country Club, and the Apostolate to the Handicapped.

He is survived by his wife, Charleen Barry and their five children, Kathryn Barry, Martha Barry (Chico Lenoch), Mary Regan, Theresa Barry, and Richard Barry; six grandchildren, Brendan and Hannah Raught, Frank Lenoch, Kelsey and Cara Regan, and Patrick Feldmeier. In addition to his parents and aunts, Finley was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Yarrington; and two brothers, John and Michael Barry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at 1 p.m. at St. Victor Catholic Church, Monroe, with Father Michael Klarer officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday, December 12, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Saturday from noon until the time of service. A Scripture Service led by Monsignor Thomas Campion will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Finley's name. The NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, is assisting the family.
