Monroe Police

MONROE - On Monday, Sept. 2:

• A wallet was reported lost at 11:45 a.m., possibly in the 2600 block of 8th Street.

• A brown pitbull was reported running at large at 12:53 p.m. in the 1100 block of 17th Street. An officer dispatched to the area did not locate the dog.

• A pedestrian reported an unleashed dog in the 600 block of 22nd Avenue at 6:01 p.m. The dog's owner was warned to keep it leashed.

• Police responded to an accidental 911 dial at 9:05 p.m. from the 1600 block of 11th Street.

• One male reported at 9:57 p.m. that another male was threatening him on Facebook. The alleged offender was warned and the caller was advised to unfriend him.

On Tuesday, Sept. 3:

• Police responded to a complaint at 5:57 a.m. of an inoperable vehicle on a jack in the road in the 200 block of West 22nd Street Court. A warning notice was left for the owner.

• Animal neglect was reported at 8:35 a.m. in the 2500 block of 13th Street. An officer dispatched to check on the dog determined the complaint unfounded.

• Keys were found at 10:07 a.m. in the 1100 block of 16th Avenue and brought to the police station, where they may be identified and claimed.

• A gray stray cat was found at 10:13 a.m. behind a business in the 1100 block of 17th Avenue. The Green County Humane Society picked up the cat and took it to the shelter.

• Vehicle parts, trailers and assorted debris were reported at 10:15 a.m. in a residential backyard in the 1600 block of 17th Street. Warning notices were issued to the tenant and landlord.

• Tall grass and weeds were reported growing in the sidewalk cracks at the corner of 15th Street and 13th Avenue 1:06 p.m. A notice was sent to the property owner.

• An elevator at Black Hawk Technical College, 210 4th Ave., mistakenly called 911 while it was being maintained at 4:16 p.m.

• A bank bag was reported as lost somewhere between Lena and Monroe at 5:53 p.m.

• Overgrown shrubbery encroaching onto the sidewalk in the 600 block of 14th Avenue was reported at 6:10 p.m.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - James M. Munn, 56, Orfordville, was cited for unsafe backing of a vehicle after deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash in the N3700 block of County J in Monroe Township at 2:48 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3. Munn was backing a tanker truck into a driveway when he pulled across the highway and collided with southbound tanker truck driven by Todd H. Neuenschwander, 47, Browntown. Neuenschwander braked rapidly but was unable to stop quickly enough to avoid the collision, which caused moderate damage to Munn's tanker truck and severe damage to Neuenschwander's tanker truck. Munn's was driven from the scene, and Neuenschwander's was towed. The Wisconsin State Patrol inspected both vehicles and found no equipment violations that would have contributed to the crash.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Tuesday, Sept. 3:

• Cirilo Lopez-Reyes, 38, Platteville, was cited for driving with a revoked license and no vehicle insurance and for speeding at 12:04 p.m. on Wis. 81 in Elk Grove Township.

• A deputy responded to Center Hill Road in Darlington Township at 10:15 a.m. for a civil dispute.

• A noise complaint was reported at 11:05 p.m. on County J in Benton Township.

• Criminal damage to property was reported at 11:35 p.m. on Galena Street in Argyle.
