MONROE - On Wednesday, Sept. 11:

• A tenant in a trailer park in the 700 block of 17th Street reported at 3:39 a.m. that people nearby were intoxicated and being loud. The people had left by the time police arrived.

• A woman in the 1000 block of 17th Avenue called 911 at 9:08 a.m. because she read on Facebook that another woman was missing. The other woman was not missing.

• Vandalism and a possible car break-in was reported at 9:50 a.m. in the 700 block of 27th Avenue. A large rock had been thrown through the back window of a car. Nothing was missing, but the owner suspected the car's contents had been shuffled through.

• A 13-year-old boy in the 1600 block of 13th Avenue reported at 12:38 p.m. that his guardian had scratched his ear. Police referred the case to Human Services.

• The theft of a plastic deer was reported at 4:41 p.m. from a backyard in the 2400 block of 11th Street. A hammock, pillow, bird bath and other items in a backyard had also been vandalized.

• Police were called at 4:53 p.m. to a dispute between neighbors in the 200 block of West 22nd Street Court. One neighbor alleged the other neighbor made obscene gestures. The other neighbor told police it was a misunderstanding. Police facilitated a discussion between the neighbors.

• A resident in the 1300 block of 16th Street reported at 5:16 p.m. that a boy stole a Gameboy and some games while at the residence for a sleepover last weekend. Police helped reclaim the stolen items. The boy was not charged.

On Thursday, Sept. 12:

• A motorized vehicle on the Badger State Bicycle Trail was reported at 10:48 a.m. Police did not locate the vehicle.

• A burglary was reported at 12:09 p.m. in the 1300 block of 16th Street. A flat-screen TV had been stolen from a residence.

• A young Monroe couple face charges after police were called several times in the afternoon to disturbances at an apartment in the 1300 block of 16th Street. The first call came at 1:32 p.m. Adriana N. Mendez, 19, Monroe, was cited for disorderly conduct after she allegedly slapped her mother. She and her boyfriend were told not to return to the premises. A neighbor called at 3:07 p.m. to report the couple was back and pounding on the door. The boyfriend, William B. Robison, 20, Monroe, allegedly returned again at 4 p.m. and was kicking the door. He was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct and jailed, pending court.

• At 1:49 p.m., while police were attending to the disturbances in the 1300 block of 16th Street, a neighbor reported finding a bicycle. Police retrieved the stolen bike and returned it to its owner.

• Andrew L. Conley, 50, Monroe, was arrested on a warrant for unpaid fines at 2:19 p.m. in the 1000 block of 16th Avenue. He was released after making arrangements with the clerk of court for a payment plan.

• A caller at 4:46 p.m. reported that an 8-year-old boy was kicking and pinching other kids in Recreation Park. Police talked with his parents.

• A resident reported rescuing a black kitten from a tree in a yard in the 700 block of 18th Avenue at 5:47 p.m. The kitten was turned over to the Green County Humane Society.

• A restraining order violation was reported at 7:42 p.m. An ex-wife had been sending texts to the current wife.

• Police were called to an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend at 9:09 p.m. in the 2700 block of 8th 1/2 Street. There was no sign of any physical abuse, and no one was cited or arrested.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, Sept. 12:

• A deputy responded at 6:27 a.m. to a 911 hangup call tracked to a residence on Main Street in Gratiot. Everything was found to be OK.

• The theft of a cellphone was reported at 10:16 a.m. from a residence on Prairie Road in Shullsburg Township.

• A civil dispute was reported at 1:08 p.m. on Wisconsin 11 in Gratiot.

• A motorist complained at 10:16 p.m. that people fishing from the bridge on Twin Bridge Road in New Diggings Township were wearing dark-colored clothing, making it difficult for passing drivers to see them. A deputy talked with the people fishing and relayed the concern.
