A person in the 600 block of 8th Street called 911 at 7:34 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, to see if a new prepaid cellphone was working properly. Police were dispatched, and everything appeared fine at the residence.

MONROE - Two men were arrested on drug charges and jailed following a traffic stop in the N9100 block of Wis. 92 in Exeter Township at 2:27 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6. The driver, Cole A. Mabis, 28, Belleville, is charged with misdemeanor bail jumping and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also arrested on a warrant issued by Dane County for failure to appear and was cited for driving with a revoked license and no vehicle insurance. His signature bond is set at $750. He has a pre-trial conference Nov. 19. A passenger, Matthew L. Vanderbilt, 26, Stoughton, is charged with possessing heroin and drug paraphernalia. Vanderbilt's signature bond is set at $1,000. His preliminary hearing is Oct. 3. The Green County K-9 team and New Glarus police assisted in the traffic stop.
Alex J. Meives, 28, Browntown, was arrested in Browntown at 1:46 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, on a charge of violating his conditions of bond. He was jailed pending court. He faces three counts of misdemeanor bail jumping in Green County Circuit Court. His cash bond is set at $1,500 with the conditions that he not drink, go into bars or liquor stores or have contact with an address on Church Street in Browntown. He's also court-ordered not to go into Browntown at all, except via travel on Wis. 69. He has a pre-trial conference Sept. 17.
Ashley H. Klapper, 24, Monticello, was cited for driving with a suspended license in the N4600 block of County F in Decatur Township at 3:40 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6.

DARLINGTON - Joy L. King, 45, South Wayne, was arrested in Green County on a valid warrant issued by Lafayette County and transported at 3:22 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, from Wis. 81 in Argyle Township to the Lafayette County Jail. She later had bond posted on her behalf and was released.
Cornelius G. Mitchell-Peterson, 23, Shullsburg, was arrested during a traffic stop on Wis. 23 in Willow Springs Township at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, on warrants issued by the Grant County Sheriff's Department and Platteville Police Department. He was also cited for driving without a valid license. He posted bond and was released.
Austin J. Penniston, 32, Argyle, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated on Colfax Street in Argyle at 11:27 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8. He was also charged with bail jumping, fleeing an officer, criminal damage to property, resisting and obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct and reckless driving. He is cited for littering, failing to give signal, having open intoxicants in a vehicle and allowing intoxicants in a vehicle. He was jailed. The Green County Sheriff's Department assisted in the arrest. State court files show two prior convictions of intoxicated driving on Penniston's record, in Dane County in 2002 and in Lafayette County in 2007.
Levi C. Gill, 22, Belmont, was cited for inattentive driving following a two-vehicle accident in Belmont at 6:22 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5. Gill fell asleep, causing his 2002 Dodge truck to drift into the opposite lane. A driver in the other lane, Crystal A. McNett, 29, Belmont, swerved to avoid hitting Gill's truck, but Gill then woke and swerved back into his lane, hitting McNett's 2013 Ford SUV. Both vehicles were extensively damaged and towed.
