Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Yessica Flores-Mendez, 21, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license and failure to have vehicle insurance at about 3:35 p.m. Thursday, May 24, following a traffic crash on Sunset Terrace Court.

Monroe Police

MONROE - Orrin H. Marsden, 20, Monroe, was arrested in the 400 block of West 21st Street for physical abuse of a child, disorderly conduct and bail jumping after police responded to a 911 call at 5:43 p.m. Thursday, May 24, reporting that Marsden struck a 14-year-old during an altercation. He was jailed.

• A 13-year-old female student at Monroe Middle School, 1510 13th St., was cited for harassment at 10:08 a.m. Thursday, May 24, after school authorities reported that she had ignored repeated warnings to stop harassing other students.

• A resident in the 1800 block of 20th Street Court was warned at 10:26 a.m. Thursday, May 24, not to rake leaves into the street after a streets maintenance worker reported the offense.

• The theft of $2,400 in construction tools was reported at 11:31 a.m. Thursday, May 24, from an unlocked company pick-up truck in the 1000 block of 29th Avenue. The case is still under investigation.

• Possible charges are pending from a verbal dispute in the 1600 block of 9th Street at 1:54 p.m. Thursday, May 24, between two women who have children with the same father.

• The theft of two propane tanks from the backyard of a residence in the 2000 block of 15th Avenue was reported at 2:11 p.m. Thursday, May 24. The tanks are worth about $100.

• A parent reported at 4:09 p.m. Thursday, May 24, that a 13-year-old Monroe boy had punched another outside the Monroe Middle School, 1510 13th St. The case is under investigation.

• An employee at Colony Brands, 1112 7th Ave., reported the theft of about $350 in jewelry from a locked locker at the business at 4:32 p.m. Thursday, May 24. The case is under investigation.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Christine M. Frey, 20, Golden, Colo., was cited for speeding at 12:33 a.m. Thursday, May 24, on County O in the Town of White Oak Springs.

• Deputies responded at 8:27 a.m. Thursday, May 24, for a report of an out-of-control juvenile at Black Hawk Middle School in Gratiot.
