Monroe Police

MONROE - Police responded to a dispute between three women who were flipping each other off in the 1000 block of 9th Street at 11:29 p.m. Wednesday, May 8. The women, ages 22, 23, and 17, were warned to knock it off. No one was cited or arrested.

On Thursday, May 9:

- Police responded at 3:35 a.m. to an argument between soon-to-be-ex spouses in the 1500 block of 11th Street. No one was cited or arrested.

- A property owner in the 600 block of Sunrise Court was warned to mow the grass, after police responded at 8:51 a.m. to a neighbor's complaint.

- A property owner in the 800 block of 22nd Avenue was warned to mow the grass, after police responded at 1:13 p.m. to a neighbor's complaint.

- Police responded to a complaint at 1:33 p.m. that a resident in the 2200 block of 6th Street is keeping too many cats. The officer observed three cats in the residence, which is the legal limit in the City of Monroe. The resident didn't deny having more. She was warned.

- A property owner in the 2200 block of 6th Street was issued a notice at 1:35 p.m. to clear a truck, boat and trailer parked on the grass.

- A small amount of cash was found on the ground outside the police department and turned over to police at 2:04 p.m. It may be claimed at the police station or by calling dispatch at 608-329-2400.

- A gas drive-off was reported at 4:47 p.m. at Kwik Trip, 1019 9th St.

- A person reported at 8:18 p.m. that money was stolen out of her purse at Monroe High School.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Abby A. Erb, 18, rural Brodhead, was cited for unsafe backing of a vehicle after deputies and Brodhead police responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at County GG and 25th Street in Decatur Township at 3:11 p.m. Thursday, May 9. Erb was backing her vehicle out of her driveway onto County GG when she went into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Benjamin Waagen, 43, rural Brodhead. Waagen took evasive action and went into the ditch, resulting in moderate to severe damage to his vehicle. It was towed. Erb's vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, May 9:

- A deputy responded at 1 p.m. to County G in Kendall Township for a report of dead animals, one of which was a horse. No further information was available.

- A deputy responded at 1:21 p.m. to a report of a juvenile causing a disturbance on Cross Street in Blanchardville.

- A physical altercation that took place the previous night between two juveniles was reported at 1:47 p.m. on Wisconsin 78 in Argyle Township.
