Monroe Police

MONROE - On Wednesday, May 8:

• A 13-year-old Monroe boy was arrested at the Monroe Alternative Charter School at 9:51 a.m. after police responded to a report that he was causing a disturbance. It is the boy's third arrest within a week. He was released to a parent, and the case was referred to Green County juvenile authorities.

• Heather R. Jenisek, 29, Monroe, was arrested at 4:26 p.m. at a residence in the 900 block of 10th Street on an outstanding warrant issued by the Monroe Police Department for failure to appear. Police made the arrest after investigating a caller's complaint at 4:01 p.m. that someone was burning leaves in the backyard of the residence. The person burning the yard debris was warned for the illegal burning. Jenisek was jailed.

• A 15-year-old Monroe girl was cited for making annoying calls after police responded to a complaint at 3:46 p.m. that she was texting another girl, contrary to a warning from police the previous day that the girls not send harassing texts to each other.

• Police are following up on truancies reported in the morning at Monroe High School and Middle School.

• Police were called at 2:16 p.m. to investigate the death of an 88-year-old woman at an apartment in the 700 block of 8th Avenue. An autopsy is pending but there does not appear to be any sign of foul play or cause for public safety concern.

n The theft of a vehicle from the 1700 block of 30th Avenue was reported at 11:05 p.m. Police are investigating a suspect.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Benjamin A. Harder, 23, Monroe, was cited for speeding and possessing THC (marijuana) and drug paraphernalia after deputies stopped a vehicle in the W6800 block of Wisconsin 81 in Monroe Township at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, May 8. He was released pending court. The Monroe Police Department's K-9 unit assisted with the stop.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Wednesday, May 8:

• A theft was reported at 6:15 a.m. on County D in Lamont Township.

• A deputy responded to Arthur Street in Darlington Township at 4:09 p.m. to keep the peace during a civil dispute.
