BRODHEAD POLICE

BRODHEAD - For the week of Feb. 28 to March 5, there were 120 calls for service, 24 registrations, 24 citizen assists, 20 security checks, five traffic stops, five 911 calls, four assists of other agencies, four EMS calls and one fire call.

On Feb. 28:

• Detritus on a curb was reported at 8:51 a.m. in the 1000 block of West 3rd Avenue. The items were removed.

• A 25-year-old Brodhead man was cited at 7:42 p.m. for driving with a suspended license in the 1400 block 1st Center Avenue.

On Feb. 29:

• A 34-year-old Beloit woman was cited at midnight for trespassing in the 1700 block of West 3rd Avenue.

• A 30-year-old Brodhead man was cited at 12:22 p.m. for driving without a valid license in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue.

• A gas drive-off occurred at 7:42 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. The incident was found to have been accidental.

On March 1:

• A parking complaint was made at 3:05 p.m. in the 2000 block of 1st Center Avenue. The driver of the offending vehicle was issued a warning.

• A 20-year-old Janesville man was cited at 7:23 p.m. for reckless driving in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

• A 26-year-old Brodhead woman was cited at 8:44 p.m. for a parking violation in the 900 block of 10th Street.

On Wednesday:

• A burglary was reported at 12:40 p.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street. The incident remains under investigation.

• A 25-year-old Beloit woman was arrested at 3:13 p.m. on a warrant in the E400 block of 23rd Street.

On Thursday:

• A bail jumper was reported at 12:15 p.m. in the 1400 block of 1st Center Avenue.

• A 40-year-old woman was arrested at 1:35 p.m. in the 1700 block of West 3rd Avenue for domestic disorderly conduct, bail jumping and unlawful use of a telephone.

• Harassment was reported at 6:03 p.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Friday, a vehicle was reported damaged at 8:31 a.m. in the 700 block of East 2nd Avenue. The incident remains under investigation.

On Saturday:

• A vehicle was left running unattended at 1:46 a.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue. The vehicle's owner was issued a warning.

• A gas drive-off occurred at 6:43 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police are seeking a suspect to question.



MONROE POLICE

MONROE - On Friday:

• Joshua C. Broge, 27, South Wayne, was arrested at 6:56 p.m. in the 500 block of 22nd Avenue on warrants from the sheriff departments of Green and Iowa counties and a warrant from the Monroe Police. Broge was jailed.

• Jeremy H. Hardyman, 30, Monroe, was arrested at 8:55 p.m. in the 1800 block of 12th Street on a warrant from the Department of Corrections. Hardyman was jailed.

• David S. Eldred, 51, Monroe, was cited at 8:17 p.m. for disorderly conduct after disturbance was reported in the 1300 block of 16th Street.



NEW GLARUS POLICE

NEW GLARUS - On Feb. 29:

• A couple contacted the police regarding a civil issue at 10:47 a.m. Officers were unable to resolve the issue.

• Police received a lost vehicle key at 1:25 p.m. that had been found in the 200 block of 6th Avenue.

• Police checked the welfare of an individual at 9:27 p.m. in the 1100 block of 2nd Street.

On March 1:

• Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff at 9:47 a.m. with a residential alarm triggered in the Town of New Glarus.

• Police helped unlock a vehicle at 5:40 p.m. in the 400 block of 6th Avenue.

On Wednesday, a parking complaint was made at 4:08 p.m. in the 1400 block of Wis. 69.

On Thursday:

• Police issued eight alternate-side parking citations throughout the village.

• Edward H. Clevenz, 39, Rockford, was cited at 12:42 p.m. for speeding and a seatbelt violation on Wis. 69.

• Lynda M. Blum, 63, Monticello, was cited at 3:08 p.m. for a seatbelt violation on Wis. 69.

• Police checked the welfare of a juvenile who was attempting to walk home from school at 3:52 p.m.

• Robert E. Whisler, 49, Belleville, was cited at 7:30 p.m. for driving without vehicle insurance in the 10 block of 5th Avenue.

• Richard E. Bartels, 63, Evansville, was cited at 8:57 p.m. for failing to stop at a stop light at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Wis. 69.

• Unsecured premises were found at 11:28 p.m. in the 10 block of 2nd Street.

On Friday:

• Trina L. Manthei, 57, Albany, was cited at 10:59 a.m. for a seatbelt violation on Wis. 69.

• Michael D. Halvorsen, 25, New Glarus, was cited at 11:12 a.m. for a seatbelt violation and driving without vehicle insurance on Kubly Road.

• Joseph A. Hunt, 24, Evansville, was cited at 11:34 a.m. for a seatbelt violation on County W.

• Two juveniles were cited at 6:43 p.m. for petty theft after an investigation revealed they had stolen a smartphone on Feb. 23 from a park in the 100 block of 4th Avenue.

• Police assisted a citizen with car problems at 8:57 p.m. in the 1400 block of Wis. 69.

• Wade L. Boegli, 47, Brodhead, was cited at 9:18 p.m. for speeding in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

On Saturday:

• A 911 call was made at 12:06 p.m. in the 500 block of 6th Avenue. Upon investigation, the call was found to have been a test of a vehicle's emergency button.

• Brian K. Adams, 55, Monticello, was cited at 12:38 p.m. for a seatbelt violation on Wis. 69.

• Korey R. Ace, 41, Mount Horeb, was cited at 1:38 p.m. for a seatbelt violation on Wis. 69.

• John J. Gluscic, 55, Freeport, was cited at 4:32 p.m. for speeding in the 1000 block of Wis. 69.

• A 17-year-old was cited at 6 p.m. for skateboarding in the business district in the 100 block of 5th Avenue.

On Sunday, police issued a citation to a vehicle parked in a no-parking zone in the 100 block of 2nd Street.



GREEN COUNTY SHERIFF

MONROE - On Friday, Joshua J. Miller, 24, Belleville, was cited at 6:43 p.m. for speeding, driving without vehicle insurance, driving with a suspended license, non-registration of a vehicle and a falsely displayed license plate on County CC, Town of Exeter.

On Saturday:

• Matthew D. Schupbach, 32, Brodhead, was cited at 5:05 a.m. for speeding and driving with a suspended license in the N2300 block of County T, Town of Spring Grove.

• Jack D. Bolster, 60, Rockford, was arrested at 10:40 p.m. for driving while intoxicated on Wisconsin 69, Town of Monroe. Bolster was also cited for driving left of the centerline. He was released pending court.



LAFAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• A deputy checked an individual's welfare at 1:09 a.m. on Ohio Street in Darlington.

• An alarm was triggered at 3:10 a.m. on Wis. 23 in Darlington.

• Suspicious activity was reported at 1:12 p.m. on County U, Town of Seymour.

• A dog running at large was reported at 4:49 p.m. on South Broad Street in Argyle.

• James W. Eckroth, 52, Wheaton, Ill., was cited at 5:58 p.m. for speeding on Wis. 11, Town of New Diggings.

• Whitney J. Warwick, 47, South Wayne, was arrested at 6:20 p.m. for disorderly conduct after a domestic dispute was reported on West Center Street in South Wayne.

• An injured deer was reported in the roadway at 6:30 p.m. on County N, Town of Argyle.

• A deputy checked an individual's welfare at 7 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.

On Saturday:

• Daniel R. Ryan, 54, Shullsburg, was arrested at 1:57 a.m. for driving while intoxicated on Dunbarton Road, Town of Shullsburg. Ryan was jailed.

• Property was found along the highway at 8:55 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne.

• A traffic complaint was made at 10:30 a.m. on Roaster Road, Town of Benton.

• A suspicious person was reported at 10:30 a.m. on Bethel Grove Road, Town of Kendall.

• A theft was reported at 11:28 a.m. on Springbrook Road, Town of Wiota.

• Nathan F. Stark, 38, Dubuque, Iowa, was arrested at 4:31 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont, on a Lafayette County warrant. Stark was also cited for driving without a valid license. He was released on bond.

• Aaron G. Springer, 47, Shullsburg, was arrested at 7:56 p.m. for driving with a revoked license on County W, Town of White Oak Springs.

• Deputies checked an individual's welfare at 10:16 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

• A deputy assisted the Platteville Police Department at 11:18 p.m. on Clay Street in Darlington.

On Sunday:

• A deputy checked an individual's welfare at 1:30 a.m. on Galena Street in Argyle.

• A deputy investigated an open door at 3:15 a.m. on County G, Town of Darlington.

• A deputy checked an individual's welfare at 3:50 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

• Deputies assisted the Grant County Sheriff at 6:21 a.m. with a domestic dispute on North Percival Street in Hazel Green.

• Melvin A. Jerrett, 34, Mineral Point, was arrested at 9:50 a.m. on a Lafayette County Warrant after deputies checked an individual's welfare on County S, Town of Fayette. Jerrett was released on bond.

• A deputy assisted the Vernon County Sheriff at 4:26 p.m. with a possible warrant pick up on Roller Coaster Road, Town of Darlington.

• A deputy helped unlock a vehicle at 5:12 p.m. on Wis. 81 in Argyle.

• A traffic complaint was made at 6:27 p.m. on North Main Street in Blanchardville.

• A deputy assisted the Darlington Police at 9:25 p.m. with suspicious activity reported on Main Street in Darlington.
