Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On March 20:

♦ Andrew A. Stocks, 33, Darlington, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia at 7:16 a.m. on Division Street in Darlington. Darlington Police Department assisted.

♦ Kyra R. Teal, 20, Benton, was cited for no proof of insurance at 7:33 a.m. on County J, Benton Township.

♦ Roger M. Weigand, 46, Stockton, Illinois, was cited for speeding and non registration at 8:34 a.m. on County W, White Oak Springs Township.

♦ A deputy responded at 8:44 a.m. on County O in Seymour Township for a welfare check.

♦ A deputy encountered a disabled vehicle at 10:05 a.m. on Wis. 81 in Darlington Township.

♦ A deputy responded at 11:41 a.m. to Ohnstad Road, Darlington Township for a check welfare.

♦ A deputy responded at 12:24 a.m. to Wis. 23, Willow Springs Township for a check welfare. William M. Breen, 33, Darlington, was arrested for bail jumping and was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he remains in custody.

♦ An animal bite was reported at 1:13 p.m. to County G, Fayette Township.

♦ A civil dispute was reported at 8:16 p.m. on Wis. 11 in South Wayne.

♦ Aaron J. Vaassen, 50, Platteville, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 8:59 p.m. on West Mound Road, Belmont Township.

♦ An injured animal on the roadway was reported at 11:45 p.m. on Wis. 78 in Argyle Township.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On March 12:

♦ Police assisted the Green County Sheriff with a welfare check at 4:54 p.m. in Exeter Township.

On March 13:

♦ Police issued five parking citations for violation of the winter alternate side parking ordinance.

♦ A parking complaint was reported at 9:42 a.m. in the 100 block of 2nd Street.

♦ Jared J. Smith, 31, New Glarus, was cited for speeding at 1:34 p.m. in the 10 blocks of 2nd Street.

♦ Brenda L. Steiner, 34, Blanchardville, was arrested for bail jumping at 2:06 p.m. Charges have been referred for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of prescription medications that were not in her name.

♦ Suspicious activity was reported at 7:49 p.m. in the parking lot on the 400 block of 6th Avenue. A male subject was located and everything was OK.

On March 14:

♦ Police issued six parking citations for violation of the winter alternate side parking ordinance.

♦ Police stood by at 8:34 a.m. at a residence in the 500 block of 14th Avenue while property was removed from a residence as part of a court order.

♦ Police responded at 11:26 a.m. to the 400 block of 6th Avenue for a welfare check. Everything was fine.

♦ Suspicious activity was reported at 1:09 p.m. in a vehicle in the parking lot on Railroad Street. Contact was made with the occupants and the subjects were spoken to and parents were contacted.

♦ Police removed a large piece of metal and a chunk of lumber from the roadway at 1:29 p.m. in the 800 block Wis. 69.

♦ An erratic driver was reported at 3:26 p.m. in the 1600 block of 2nd Street. The vehicle was not located.

♦ Brennen M. Purnell, 35, Cambridge, was cited for operating a motor vehicle while revoked, operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device and possession of marijuana on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue for a registration violation.

On March 15:

♦ A parking complaint was reported at 2:12 p.m. in the 100 block of 6th Avenue.

♦ A dog left in a vehicle was reported at 4:30 p.m. on Cow Path Lane. The vehicle was gone when police arrived and no action was taken.

♦ Police assisted a citizen at 10:17 p.m. in the 200 block of 6th Avenue with a vehicle unlock. The vehicle was unlocked without damaging it.

On March 16:

♦ Police assisted the Green County Sheriff's Office with a check welfare at 10:34 p.m. in the W4000 block of Pine Valley Road.

On March 17:

♦ Police assisted the Green County Sheriff's Department with a traffic hazard at 6:48 p.m. in New Glarus Township.

On March 18:

♦ Cashmere C. Williams, 23, Freeport, Illinois, was cited for speeding and operating a motor vehicle while suspended at 12:25 a.m. in the area of Wis. 69 at Kubly Road.

♦ Police cited Timothy Ty Christen, 28, Madison, was cited for a driver seatbelt violation at 12:49 p.m. in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

♦ Brenda E. Malisch, 62, Madison, was cited for a driver seatbelt violation at 5:01 p.m. in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

♦ Police assisted the Green County Sheriff's Office in attempting to locate a run away at 6:07 p.m. The juvenile was located in the 400 block of 4th Avenue. The deputies transported her home.

On March 18:

♦ Police checked on a semi that pulled over at 1:35 a.m. on Wis. 69 near 11th Avenue. In talking to the driver, it was learned everything was all right and he did not need any assistance.
