Monroe Police

MONROE - On Monday, March 18:

• Shaun R.W. McCaffree, 28, Monroe, was cited for driving with a revoked license and without vehicle insurance after officers responded at 9:55 a.m. to a two-vehicle accident with minor injuries in the intersection of 18th Avenue and Mansion Drive. McCaffree collided with a vehicle driven by Royletta J. Moon, 81, Monroe, as Moon was backing out of her driveway. Both drivers declined medical attention at the scene.

• Kendra G. Marshall, 19, South Beloit, was cited for driving too fast for conditions after officers responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries on the Wisconsin 11 East off-ramp at Wisconsin 69. Marshall rearended a vehicle driven by Nathan S. Foltz, 23, Monroe.

• Ethan D. Studer, 17, Monroe, was cited for underage drinking, first offense, after officers responded to a call from a family member at 7:22 p.m. reporting Studer hadn't gone to school and was acting out at the family residence in the 2600 block of 12th Avenue.

• The theft of a truck was reported at 1:46 a.m. by a caller in the 500 block of West 21st Street. The caller had sold the truck and told police he collected some but not all of the payment from the buyer. He wanted to press charges against the buyer for theft. Police advised him nonpayment in this case is a civil issue and not criminal.

• Police responded at 7:42 a.m. to an anonymous complaint of an unshoveled sidewalk in the 300 block of 7th Street. The person responsible for shoveling had taken care of the situation by the time police arrived.

• A resident captured a stray cat in the 2200 block of 8th Avenue at 10:24 a.m. and took it to the Green County Humane Society.

• Officers were dispatched at 12:42 p.m. to Abraham Lincoln Accelerated Learning Academy, 2625 14th Ave., for a disturbance involving a 10-year-old student. The boy was throwing books and biting and kicking others. The case was referred to Juvenile Intake.

• Police responded at 3:42 p.m. to a complaint that a business at 400 1st Ave., Wisconsin Pallet and Storage, is burning materials that may be chemically treated, a violation of city code. Nothing was being burned when police arrived, so there was insufficient evidence for a code violation. Police are working with the city building inspector to help the business gain compliance.

• Police were called at 9:01 p.m. to a dispute between adult siblings in the 1300 block of 15th Avenue. The brother wanted police to force his sister to hand over some personal property. Police advised him the matter is civil, not criminal, and he and his sister will have to work it out between themselves.

On Tuesday, March 19:

• A passerby in the 1300 block of 16th Avenue called police at 7:58 a.m. to report seeing a shivering dog chained outside a residence. An officer stopped by and determined the animal was fine and then observed it go inside.

• A caller at 9:33 a.m. reported that his neighbor's dogs in the 1500 block of 23rd Street were being vicious. An officer stopped by and talked with a resident in the dog-owner's home. The resident alleged the dogs were only riled up because the neighbor had been banging a broom against the backyard fence and telling the dogs to shut up. The officer advised the resident to keep the dogs quieter.

• Police began an investigation into a truancy reported by Monroe High School at 2:07 p.m.

• Police were called to a dispute between spouses at 4:41 p.m. in the 800 block of 18th Avenue. A man wanted police to stand by while he picked up his son from his estranged wife.

• A burglary was reported at 5:14 p.m. in the 1100 block of 30th Street. The residence had been forcefully entered. The thief or thieves stole a television valued at about $500.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Brett D. Hutchison, 22, Albany, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass to a dwelling after deputies responded to a disturbance at an apartment building at 501 S. Mechanic St., Albany, at 1 a.m. Monday, March 18.

• Alexander J. Clark, 24, Brodhead, was arrested on a warrant issued by Rock County for failure to pay a fine, after deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction on Wisconsin 11 near Mount Hope Road in Spring Grove Township at 7:59 a.m. Tuesday, March 19. Clark was a passenger in the vehicle. He posted the required bond and was released. The driver, Hollie M. Germann, 24, Durand, Ill., was cited for non-registration of an auto.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Eugene D. Knapp, 34, Gratiot, was cited for failure to fasten seatbelt at 3:08 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg Township.
