Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Tuesday:

• Deputies responded to a vehicle in the ditch at 4:52 a.m. in the W1300 block of Wisconsin 92, Town of Brooklyn. Scott C. Meskan, 45, of Fitchburg was arrested for operating while under the influence. Meskan was also cited for operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration. Meskan was released pending court.

• Deputies stopped a vehicle at 5:32 p.m. for speeding in the W1100 block of Wis. 59, Town of Albany. A passenger, Christopher H. Stevens, 36, Albany, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. Stevens was released pending court. The Green County K9 unit assisted with the investigation.

• Marcus P. Kleist was involved in a motor vehicle vs. deer accident in the N9500 block of Wis. 69, Town of New Glarus.

• Nicole D. Andrews was involved in a motor vehicle vs. deer accident in the N4400 block Wis. 69, Town of Monroe.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• At 9:38 p.m., a deputy came upon an open door on East Center Street in South Wayne.

• A deputy responded to Wis. 11 in Gratiot Township for a traffic hazard at 11 p.m.

• A deputy came upon an open door on East Center Street in South Wayne at 11:10 p.m.

On Saturday:

• At 12:58 a.m., a deputy assisted Monroe Police Department on Wis. 78, Wiota Township.

• A deputy responded at 6:23 a.m. to Otter Creek Road, Darlington Township, for an ATV complaint.

• A deputy responded at 9:32 a.m. to Dublin Road, Darlington Township, for a 911 misdial.

• A deputy responded at 6:41 p.m. to Wis. 11, Gratiot Township, for livestock on the roadway.

• At 10:19 p.m., Jayden L. Rufenacht, 21, Gratiot, reported striking a deer on Andrews Road, Wayne Township. No injuries were reported and Rufenacht's 2005 Jeep received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On Sunday:

• At 12:02 a.m., a deputy assisted the Monroe Police Department on Wis. 11 in South Wayne.

• Alexander J. White, 29, Mineral Point, was cited at 3:13 a.m. for speeding on Wis. 11 in Gratiot.

• At 8:57 a.m., a deputy responded to a one-vehicle accident on South Lake Road, Argyle Township. Edward P. Krien, 51, Lake Geneva, struck a sign post. No injuries were reported and Krien's 2016 Ford received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

• A deputy responded to Old Q Road, Blanchard Township, for a noise complaint at 11:35 a.m.

• Deputies responded at 11:56 a.m. to Riverside Road, Wiota Township, for a welfare check.

• A deputy responded at 2:49 p.m. to Maple Street in Blanchardville for a traffic complaint.

• At 9:59 p.m., Brandon L. Strothman, 22, Warren, Illinois, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign on Mayer Road, Wayne Township.

• Karen S. Heller, 49, Monroe, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign on Mayer Road, Wayne Township, at 11:02 p.m.

On Monday:

• A deputy came across an abandoned vehicle on County G, Willow Springs Township, at 5:54 a.m.

• At 8:56 a.m., a deputy responded to Main Street in Blanchardville to assist with traffic control.

• At 2:26 p.m., a deputy responded to Red Rock Road, Darlington Township, for an animal bite complaint.

• A deputy responded at 6:38 p.m. to North State Street in Argyle for an animal neglect complaint.

• A deputy responded at 9:23 p.m. to Meier Road, Wayne Township, for livestock on the roadway.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On May 22:

• At 9:25 a.m., Hans R. Marty, 23, Monticello, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance after stopping the vehicle for an equipment violation on 6th Avenue at Railroad Street.

• At 1:23 p.m., police assisted the Green County Sheriff's Office with a reported motor vehicle in the ditch in the N9000 block County O. The vehicle was removed from the ditch and the owner advised there was no damage to the vehicle.

• Police received a complaint at 4:43 p.m. regarding a check welfare on an elderly subject who could not be located at their residence or in New Glarus. The subject was located.

On May 23:

• At 4:05 p.m., police responded to the 500 block of 14th Avenue to check on some children at the residence. The children were fine.

• Police received a complaint at 6:53 p.m. that was civil in nature over a use of a vehicle. No other action was taken.

On May 24:

• At 12:46 p.m., police assisted a citizen in the 600 block of Railroad Street who had locked keys in a car. The vehicle was unlocked without causing any damage.

• Police received a report at 3:44 p.m. of a loose dog in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue. The animal's owner was located, and the dog was returned to him.

• Police responded at 5 p.m. to 200 Industrial Drive for a report of a disorderly conduct that had happened earlier in the day.

• At 6:10 p.m., Michelle S. Disch, 24, Monticello, was cited for illegal window tint near the intersection of Durst Road and 6th Avenue.

• Shawn A. Christensen, 54, Monticello, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance after observing a registration violation near the intersection of 6th Avenue and Railroad Street at 6:38 p.m.

• At 6:51 p.m., police warned a driver for parking facing the wrong direction in the 200 block of 7th Avenue.

• At 7:10 p.m., Rory S. Privett, 23, Brodhead, was cited for operating a motor vehicle while revoked, third offense; illegal window tint; non-registration of auto; and operating a motor vehicle without insurance after observing the violations near the intersection of Industrial Drive and Hoesly Drive.
