MONROE - On Tuesday, July 16:
A gas drive-off was reported at 12:25 p.m. at Stop-N-Go, 1607 9th St. The case is still under investigation.
A purse with a Nintendo game in it was found in the 400 block of 14th Avenue and brought at 2:36 p.m. to the police station, where the owner may identify and claim it.
Green County Sheriff
MONROE - On Tuesday, July 16:
Jason D. Benfer, 41, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of driving while intoxicated after deputies responded to a traffic complaint at 12:20 p.m. and located the suspect vehicle on Wisconsin 69 near Dinges Road in Clarno Township. Benfer was also cited for driving with a suspended license, having open intoxicants in the vehicle and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
Harley G. Tarkenton, 26, Evansville, was taken into custody on a probation hold at 12:27 p.m. at the probation and parole office in the Green County Justice Center in Monroe. He was jailed pending court.
Donald G. Bornemeier, 33, Monroe, was arrested at the Justice Center at 1:53 p.m. on warrants for felony bail jumping and two warrants for failure to pay child support. He was jailed pending court.
Craig R. Kennison, 20, Monroe, was cited for driving with a suspended license and speeding after deputies stopped him at 10:32 p.m. for a traffic infraction in the N5500 block of Wis. 69 in Washington Township.
Lafayette County Sheriff
DARLINGTON - On Tuesday, July 16:
William M. Kunkel, 21, Hazel Green, was arrested by Hazel Green police on a valid Lafayette County warrant for failure to pay fines and was taken at 3:50 p.m. to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department in Darlington, where he posted bond and was released.
Darcy A. Cline, 27, Platteville, was cited for driving without a valid license at 4:50 a.m. on County XX in Belmont Township.
Jeffrey M. McDonald, 23, Belmont, was cited for speeding at 11:22 a.m. on Wis. 81 in Darlington Township.
Matthew J. Barry, 23, Beloit, was cited for passing in a no-passing zone at 12:15 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg.
Thomas C. Seffrood, 62, Gratiot, was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle and an expired vehicle registration after deputies responded to a rollover accident at 6:20 p.m. on West Church Road in Wiota Township. Seffrood sustained minor injuries in the accident and was treated at the scene by Wiota First Response and Rural Medical Ambulance. He declined medical transport. Seffrood had been southbound in a 1987 Dodge truck when he lost control on a curve, then overcorrected and veered into the opposite ditch, where the truck rolled onto its side. The truck was extensively damaged and towed. The Wiota Fire Department and Darlington Police Department assisted at the scene.
