MONROE - Police took a report of vandalism at a shelter in Twining Park, 400 14th Ave., at 2:02 a.m. Thursday, July 12. Garbage cans had been knocked over, the toilets stuffed with trash and the paper towel dispenser unsuccessfully set on fire.
- A 13-year-old boy was kicked out of Recreation Park, 1700 22nd Ave., after police responded to complaints that the boy climbed the rafters in the park's shelter and yelled obscenities at a group of girls.
- A gold gemstone bracelet was reported lost at 8:21 a.m. Friday, July 13. If found, call dispatch at 329-2400.
- A dog owner in the 2500 block of 9th Avenue was warned after police responded to a complaint at 8:45 a.m. Friday, July 13, that the dogs were barking.
- A resident complained at 11:13 a.m. Friday, July 13, that excess trash was left on a terrace in the 2200 block of 11th Street.
- An 18-year-old male was warned to behave after a woman reported at 4:53 p.m. Friday, July 13, that he took her 12-year-old daughter's cellphone and was harassing the girl by attempting to flirt with her.
- At 11:24 p.m. Friday, July 13, police found and disposed of two orange traffic cones that had apparently been stolen and placed in the intersection of 15th Street and 17th Avenue as a prank.
- A dog owner in the 700 block of 16th Avenue was issued a final warning at 9:49 p.m. Saturday, July 14, to quiet barking dogs and get the animals licensed with the city.
- The theft of a liquid propane tank off a gas grill on a backyard deck in the 900 block of 29th Avenue was reported at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, July 15.
- Police have a suspect but are still investigating the theft of a bicycle off a bike rack in Recreation Park, 1700 22nd Ave., reported at 4:12 p.m. Sunday, July 15.
- An overwhelming odor of cat urine was reported coming from a residence in the 1100 block of 19th Street at 10:35 p.m. Sunday, July 15. Police have received at least one hoarding complaint about the house before, and as a result, a city building inspector ordered no one to live in the home until it was cleaned and the cat population reduced to three (the legal limit). The building inspector inspected the home again early Monday, July 16, and found the home still uninhabitable. No citations were issued against the resident, and according to police, she is working to resolve the situation and complying with city orders.
- Possible child neglect was reported by a business in the 1600 block of 9th Street at 8:27 a.m. Monday, July 16, after a child from a nearby residence wandered into the business. Police are investigating.
- A 14-year-old girl was reported missing at 1:53 p.m. Monday, July 16, in the 1600 block of 15th Street. A parent has had contact with the girl but she has still not been located. Police are investigating.
- Possible child abuse was reported at 2:13 p.m. Monday, July 16, in the 2300 block of 5th Avenue. Police are investigating.
- Police took a report at 2:43 p.m. Monday, July 16, that a man walked up to a woman outside a business in the 1000 block of 9th Street, asked her age and then asked if she would be willing to model for the man and his wife. There is no immediate indication of criminal behavior, but police are investigating a suspect.
