Monroe Police

MONROE - Harley F. Vandervelden, 24, Monroe, was arrested in the 1300 block of 16th Street at 8:52 p.m. Monday, July 9, on a warrant issued by the Albany Police Department for failure to pay a fine. He was jailed.

- Justin D. Nyman, 20, Monroe, was arrested in the 1600 block of 10th Avenue at about 11:45 p.m. Monday, July 9, on warrants issued by the Monroe Police Department and Green County Sheriff's Department for failure to appear in court.

- Calvin D. Howard, 23, Brodhead, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance after police responded at 11:50 a.m. Monday, July 9, to a two-vehicle collision in the 700 block of 8th Avenue. Howard hit a vehicle operated by Myra B. Gobeli, 81, Browntown. No injuries were reported. The vehicles were moderately damaged.

- Tires valued at a total of $30 were reported stolen from a porch in the 700 block of 17th Street at 8:13 a.m. Monday, July 9.

- A person was warned for having a dog in East School Park, 2200 9th St., at 10:21 a.m. Monday, July 9.

- A warning notice was issued at 11:21 a.m. Monday, July 9, to a resident in the 1300 block of 14th Street to clean up an overflowing dumpster.

- A person came into the Monroe Police Department, 1811 12th St., at 1:39 p.m. Monday, July 9, to turn over a small amount of suspected marijuana and a smoking device.

- An officer was dispatched to Recreation Park, 1700 22nd Ave., after a person called police at 4:27 p.m. Monday, July 9, to complain of people using bad language in the park.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Richard E. Wiederholt, 44, Darlington, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated at 12:53 a.m. Saturday, July 7, on Spring Street in Darlington. He was later released to a responsible party.

- Darren S. Caples, 26, Clinton, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 11:58 a.m. Friday, July 6, on Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Gratiot.

- Bradly C. Hanson, 43, New York, was cited for driving without a valid license at 2:35 p.m. Friday, July 6, on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg.

- Mitchell G. Carneol, 53, Bayside, was cited for speeding and driving without vehicle insurance at 3:48 p.m. Friday, July 6, on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont.

- Four Iowans were cited for keeping open intoxicants in a vehicle at 10:32 p.m. Friday, July 6, following a traffic stop on Wis. 11 in the Town of Shullsburg: Jacob Maurice Leiting, 24, and Bryce Andrew Schmitt, 21, both of Carroll; Joshua David Jobe, 21, Winterset; and Ethan David Schoeppner, 21, Templeton. A fifth person from Iowa, Brian James Gossett, 20, Carroll, was cited for underage drinking. All posted bond and were released to a responsible party.

- Kathleen L. Winslow, 37, Shullsburg, was cited for a seatbelt violation and driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 2:50 p.m. Saturday, July 7, on Wis. 11 in South Wayne.

- Patricia M. Crimmins, 74, Dubuque, was cited for speeding at 3:08 p.m. Saturday, July 7, on Wis. 11 in South Wayne.

- Jarrod A. Mair, 20, Gratiot, was cited for driving with no proof of vehicle insurance at 11:49 p.m. Saturday, July 7, on North Riverbend Road in the Town of Wiota.

- Stephanie M. Kleppe, 37, Argyle, was cited for speeding at 9:56 a.m. Sunday, July 8, on Wisconsin 78 in the Town of Blanchard.

- Sean Ryan Feavel, 27, Marshall, was cited for speeding and driving without proof of insurance at 10:35 a.m. Sunday, July 8, on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont.

- David Ryan Adelman, 30, Des Moines, Iowa, was cited for speeding at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 8, on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont.

- William R. Bower, 29, Cottage Grove, was cited for speeding at 11:40 a.m. Sunday, July 8, on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont.

- William T. Carmichael, 44, Omaha, Neb., was cited for speeding at 12:09 p.m. Sunday, July 8, on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont.

- Jason D. Hintz, 43, Lena, Ill., was cited for unsafe lane deviation and transported by Argyle Ambulance to the Monroe Clinic for treatment of injuries from a motorcycle accident on Old Q Road in the Town of Argyle at 12:29 p.m. Sunday, July 8. Hintz was southbound when he lost control on a curve and was ejected. The 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was driving was moderately damaged and towed.

- A deputy recovered a bicycle found lying in a field off County F in the Town of Willow Springs. To claim, call dispatch at 776-4870.
