Monroe Police

MONROE - On Friday, Jan. 10:

• Police received a report at 4:31 p.m. of theft of a purse from an unlocked vehicle parked in a residential driveway in the 2500 block of 17th Street. Cash, credit cards and checks were inside the purse.

• Linda M. Swedlund, 41, Monroe, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and battery under the domestic abuse law and for misdemeanor bail jumping for violation of an alcohol consumption prohibition. A 36-year-old Monroe man was transported to Monroe Clinic ER by Green County EMS for non-life-threatening injuries. Swedlund was jailed pending court.

On Saturday, Jan. 11:

• Jennifer Jenisek, 25, Monroe, was arrested at 6:02 p.m. in the 1000 block of 8th Street on outstanding warrants for possession of marijuana and for failure to pay child support. She was jailed.

• Mark W. Scott, 56, South Wayne, was arrested at 7:51 p.m. in the 1200 block of 10th Street for an outstanding warrant issued by the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department. Scott was jailed.

• Police were called at 3:20 p.m. to a residence in the 2100 block of 14th Avenue for a report of theft of coins. A suspect has been named and the incident remains under investigation.

On Sunday, Jan. 12:

• Kaitlin A. Nyle, 25, Freeport, was arrested at 12:44 a.m. in the 2100 block of Wis. 69 for first-offense OWI. She was released pending court.

• Tyler F. Humphrey, 26, Monroe, and Nathan R. Pack, 22, Freeport, were arrested in the 1300 block of 17th Street for disorderly conduct after police observed a fight in progress in an outside fenced area of the Friendly Inn tavern, 1335 17th Street. Pack was also charged with battery. Humphrey suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment. Both subjects were released pending court.

• Police took a report at 4:26 a.m. of the theft of a cellphone allegedly taken during a fight at a tavern in the 1300 block of 17th Street.

• Police took a report at 1:01 p.m. of a stolen wallet in the 1000 block of 16th Avenue.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Friday, Jan. 10:

• Michael J. Ace, 42, Monroe, was cited at 11:22 a.m. for disorderly conduct after deputies responded to a complaint in the N1800 block of Five Corner Road in Jefferson Township. He was released pending court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday, Jan. 10:

• A deputy responded at 12:00 p.m. to Jones Branch road in Belmont Township for a report of livestock in the roadway.

• Debra A. Walters, 42, East Dubuque, was cited for speeding following a traffic stop on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg Township.

• Deputies responded to several weather related accidents throughout Lafayette County. Rain and sleet combined with below freezing temperatures caused hazardous travel conditions throughout the day and into the night.

• No injuries were reported at 4:25 p.m. after deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident on Wis. 81 in Lamont Township. Linley M. Carlson, 23, Monroe, was traveling westbound when she lost control of her vehicle at a curve due to the icy roads. She slid across the center line and hit an oncoming Lafayette County Highway Department snowplow operated by Jordan D. Hinderman, 31, Darlington. Carlson's vehicle sustained minor damage and was towed from the scene. The snowplow sustained no damage and was driven from the scene.

• Robert A. Kamps, 45, Platteville, was uninjured following a one-vehicle accident on Mitchell Hollow Road in Belmont Township reported at 5:55 p.m. Kamps was operating a snowplow when the front end began to slide due to the icy roads and tipped onto its side. The truck had to be emptied and was towed from the scene.

• A deputy assisted the Grant County Sheriff's Department at 6:37 p.m. by assisting a motorist who slid off the highway on U.S. 151.

On Saturday, Jan. 11:

• A deputy responded at 6:55 a.m. to Landon Road in Kendall Township for a report of an injured animal.

• A deputy responded at 8:22 a.m. to County Z in Darlington Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

• A deputy took a report of harassment at 11:20 a.m. on 1st Street in the Village of Benton.

• Nicholas E. Roberts, 32, Benton, was arrested at 4:07 p.m. for operating after revocation following a traffic stop on County W in White Oaks Springs Township. Roberts was jailed pending court.

• A deputy responded at 7:18 p.m. to a hit-and-run accident on Main Street in Benton. Vernon J. Deiter, 74, Cuba City, was legally parked when his vehicle was hit by an unknown vehicle.

On Sunday, Jan. 12:

• While on patrol of Wis. 11 in Wayne Township a deputy came upon a vehicle in the ditch at 5:03 a.m. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Jason P. Schmidt, 22, Platteville, was arrested at 5:29 a.m. for possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation hold after a deputy responded to Sunny Lane in Belmont Township for a report of a suspicious vehicle.

• A deputy took a report of a restraining order violation at 12:24 p.m. on County Y in Wiota Township.

• A deputy responded at 2:28 p.m. to Stub Lane in Darlington Township to keep the peace during a civil dispute.



Albany Police

ALBANY - On Wednesday, Jan. 8:

• Anthony J. Harried, 28, Evansville, was arrested for OWI and operating after revocation.

• Danielle M. Harried, 20, Evansville, was arrested for underage drinking.

• Cody A. Kirschbaum, 25, Albany, was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - Kayla M. L. Burnett, 19, was arrested at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 in the 300 block of East 2nd Avenue on an active warrant, failure to yield at an uncontrolled intersection and driving too fast for conditions. She was jailed.

• Dylan T. Johnson, 18, Brodhead, was cited at 3:22 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 for improper passing of a stopped school bus in the 2000 block of West 9th Avenue. A court date was issued.
