Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Ismael Cervantes-Hernandez, 26, Darlington, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance at 6:13 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, following a vehicle slide-off on County F.



Monroe Police

MONROE - Steven R. Straws, 52, Monroe, was arrested in the 1100 block of 30th Street at 5:57 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, on four outstanding warrants issued by the Brodhead Police Department for issuance of worthless checks. He was jailed.

• Kathryn L. Husar, 48, Warren, was cited for shoplifting about $38 in merchandise from Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W., at 2:37 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26.

• After police responded to anonymous complaints, property owners were warned Monday, Feb. 25, to shovel sidewalks in the 1300 block of 14th Avenue and 100 block of 7th 1/2 Street.

• An egging was reported at 6:26 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, in the 1500 block of 19th Street.

• Residents in an apartment building in the 300 block of 2nd Street reported yelling in an adjacent apartment at 9:09 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25. Police stopped by, and the people who had been yelling said they'd been arguing but everything was fine.

• A woman came to the police station at 10:14 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, to report receiving annoying phone calls and that she'd been groped by two people on separate occasions during the past month.

• A theft of prescription medication, a narcotic, was reported at a residence in the 1000 block of 4th Avenue West at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26.

• Staff at First Community Credit Union, 140 W. 7th St., reported a counterfeit bill at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26. Police referred the case to the Secret Service.

• An absentee landlord was warned to remove excessive bags of trash from a property in the 1900 block of 9th Street after police responded to a complaint about the garbage at 9:17 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26.

• The owner of a three-legged dog in the 2500 block of 8th Street was warned to keep it on a leash after police responded to a complaint that the dog was in a neighbor's yard at 12:57 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Randall S. Zuber, 34, Monticello, was arrested at the Green County Justice Center at 11:05 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, on a Department of Corrections probation warrant.

• Alejandro Olmos Landa, 32, Beloit, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance after deputies responded at 1:58 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, to a one-vehicle crash in the W1600 block of County F in the Town of Decatur. He was eastbound when he lost control, causing the vehicle to veer into the ditch and overturn. He and the passenger reported no injuries. The vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene once towed out of the ditch. Speed and snowy conditions were contributing factors in the crash. Brodhead firefighters, EMS and police assisted at the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Tuesday, Feb. 26:

• Cody A. Young, 20, Argyle, was transported at 5:40 a.m. to Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun to serve a sentence on convictions of theft, burglary and possession of prescription narcotics and amphetamines.

• Rachel A. Reuter, 22, Platteville, was arrested on a third-offense charge of driving while intoxicated after deputies responded at 9:30 p.m. to a complaint of an erratic driver and a vehicle in the ditch on County XX in the Town of Belmont. The vehicle Reuter was driving was undamaged in the slide-off. She was also cited for driving with a revoked license, failure to have control and keeping open intoxicants in the vehicle. She was booked into the jail and then released to a responsible adult.

• Michael L. Sigafus, 43, Gratiot, was cited at 11:30 a.m. on Main Street in Darlington for non-registration of a vehicle and driving with a suspended license and no proof of vehicle insurance.

• A theft at a residence on South Van Buren Street in Benton was reported at 2:11 p.m.
