Monroe Police

MONROE - Shannel P. Guzman, 26, Browntown, was cited for retail theft at 5:17 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3. She allegedly shoplifted clothing from Walmart, 300, 6th Ave. W.

• An officer who warned a resident last week about feeding feral cats returned to the same residence in the 1300 block of 15th Avenue at 7:59 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, to warn the property owner to remove an old mattress set dumped in the yard.

• Police were called to a dispute between two male students at Monroe Alternative Charter School, 1220 16th Ave., at 10:16 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30. The students, ages 17 and 18, were warned to stop.

• A child's ring was reported found at Walmart a month ago and brought to the police station at 11:28 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30. To claim, call dispatch at (608) 329-2416.

• Police were called to the Monroe Clinic ER to take a report of a cat bite that occurred at Claws 2 Paws Animal Supply, 418 10 1/2 St. W., at 7:10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. The cat, which roams free in the store, will be quarantined as a safety precaution. The owner must provide proof of vaccination to the Green County Health Department.

• A 25-year-old Monroe woman came into the police station at 10:49 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, to report that her boyfriend, also 25 and of Monroe, slapped her and pulled her hair while they were out driving. She didn't want to pursue charges; she just wanted the incident documented. The boyfriend is on probation, so police referred the case to his probation officer.

• A guest at Super 8, 500 6th St., reported a theft of tools valued at $2,000 from a vehicle parked in the motel's parking lot at 7:53 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.

• Police were called to a child custody dispute at 12:37 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at a home in the 500 block of West 21st Street.

• A 49-year-old woman reported at 3:21 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, that toilet paper and Taco Bell products had been thrown at her vehicle in the 1900 block of 9th Street.

• A broken rear window on a sedan was reported at 8:05 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in the 900 block of 8th Street.

• A boy called police at 11:32 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, to report that his siblings, a 13-year-old girl and 9-year-old boy, were hitting each other with a belt at a home in the 500 block of West 21st Street. There were no serious injuries. The case was referred to Green County Human Services.

• Police were dispatched to a dispute between a 31-year-old woman and her 58-year-old mother at 8:28 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in the 2800 block of 6th Street. The daughter had called police. Officers separated the women, who apparently were yelling and shoving each other in an argument over a transfer of property. No one was charged.

• A resident in the 500 block of West 21st Street called dispatch at 2:27 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, to report that his vehicle had been scratched and his bumper cracked. He asked police to patrol the area and keep an eye on things.

New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Trent J. Hendrickson, 25, New Glarus, was cited for speeding 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on 6th Avenue east of Klitzke Road at 5:23 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28.

• Jack M. Harrison, Jr., 57, Greenville, S.C., was cited for speeding in the 1100 block of Wisconsin 69 at 10:23 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30.

• Police investigated a report of possible animal neglect at a residence within the village at 10:25 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. No signs of neglect were observed, and the concern was deemed unfounded.

• The theft of an iPod from a vehicle on 2nd Street was reported at 10:14 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. The iPod is black and an older 16G model. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call dispatch at (608) 527-2145.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Jason A. Rutherford, 30, Cuba City, was arrested on charges of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop at 8:26 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. He was jailed. A passenger, Kelli C. Cullen, 25, Platteville, was also arrested on a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia. She was booked and released.

• Dale E. Ackerman, 56, Argyle, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 8:03 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, to a report of a domestic dispute on Galena Street in Argyle.

• Sharita L. Jennings, 27, Madison, was cited for driving with a suspended license and without proof of vehicle insurance on Wis. 78 in the Town of Argyle at 2:52 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30.

• Brittany A. Cox, 21, Galena, Ill., was cited for speeding on County W in the Town of White Oak Springs at 10:48 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30.

• Jesse R. Herr, 25, Cuba City, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign on West Mound View Road in the Town of Belmont at 8:04 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.

• Colleen K. Borcherding, 52, Blanchardville, was cited for failure to control a vehicle after a deputy responded at 12:17 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, to a two-vehicle accident on County F in the Town of Blanchard. Borcherding was eastbound when she failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into the westbound lane, hitting a westbound vehicle driven by David H. Dyer, 46, Madison. No injuries were reported. Dyer's vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene. Borcherding's vehicle was severely damaged and towed.

• Jeffery E. Hirsch, 45, Rewey, was cited for failure to control a vehicle after a deputy responded at 8:55 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, to a one-vehicle accident with no injuries on West Mound Road in the Town of Belmont. Hirsch was northbound when he failed to negotiate a corner, lost control, spun around in the road and veered into the opposite ditch, where his 2000 Chevrolet truck hit a fence and utility pole. The truck was moderately damaged and towed.

• A theft was reported on White Oak Road in the Town of White Oak Springs at 5:34 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.

• Criminal damage to property was reported on Wardsville Road in the Town of Seymour at 8:09 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.

• Telephone harassment was reported on North Fairview Avenue in Argyle at 11:14 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.

• Telephone harassment was reported on County N in the Town of Wayne at 1:40 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.

• A deputy responded to Main Street in the Town of Calamine to keep the peace during a civil dispute at 4:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.

• A deputy responded to County Y in the Town of Woodford for a report of disorderly conduct at 9:22 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.

• A deputy took a report at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, of a juvenile receiving a threatening text message while at school in Benton.

• A deputy responded to the Benton Schools on Alma Street in Benton to assist with a disorderly student at 12:50 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3.

• Several blank checks were reported stolen from a residence on County D in the Town of Lamont at 3:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3. Several of the checks had been used to buy electronics in the Madison area. A suspect was named, and the case remains under investigation.

• Animal neglect was reported on County O in the Town of Shullsburg at 3:19 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3.

• The theft of a BB gun from a location on County O in the Town of Shullsburg was reported at 3:44 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3.

• Domingo Jose Baltazar, 25, Waterloo, Iowa, was arrested on charges of driving without a valid license or vehicle insurance, speeding and a seatbelt violation at 2:53 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, on Wis. 11 in the Town of Wayne. He was jailed until the appropriate bond was posted.

• A deputy responded at 5:42 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, to a barking dog complaint at a location on West Grove Street in South Wayne.Miner Way in Shullsburg at 5:40 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - James T. Love, 30, Freeport, Ill., was arrested during a traffic stop at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 on Wisconsin 69 at Thorp Road in the Town of Clarno on a Department of Corrections warrant and on a child support warrant issued by Waushara County. The driver, Alexandria R. Iverson, 18, also of Freeport, was cited for speeding. Love was jailed pending transport to another facility.
