MONROE POLICE

• The owner of a vehicle in the 2300 block of 17th Avenue reported at 8:18 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, that the rear taillight lens had been broken. Vandalism and not a traffic accident was suspected.

• At 10:41 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, staff at First Community Credit Union, 140 W. 7th St., reported finding a suspected counterfeit $10 bill within a deposit envelope of cash from a local business. Police are referring the case to the U.S. Secret Service.

• Businesses along 3rd Avenue, between 6th Street and 10th Street, were warned at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, to clear snow and ice from sidewalks.

• An anonymous caller reported at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, that the sidewalk was not cleared in front of a residence in the 700 block of 17th Avenue. The home is vacant and for sale. Police notified the real estate agent to take care of snow removal.

• A man was warned for trespassing at his mother's apartment in the 800 block of 22nd Avenue at 7:42 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26. The landlord has previously ordered him not to be on the property.

• Michael M. Friedrichs, 25, Monroe, was arrested in the 2200 block of 7th Street at about 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, on a warrant issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for a probation/parole violation.

• Police advised the Streets Department at 9:59 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, to clear sidewalks and the crosswalks at the intersection of Wisconsin 69 and 8th Street.

• The family member of an elderly resident in the 300 block of 6th Street reported at 11:27 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, that a person maliciously turned on an outdoor water faucet and left it on, causing it to freeze over. Police are investigating a suspect.

• A man in the 2200 block of 1st Street complained at 3:41 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, that he was being harassed by a crank caller. Police called the number and discovered it was a collection agency and the calls to the man were legitimate.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Abel Campos, 21, Freeport, Ill., was cited for speeding and driving with a suspended license at 9:27 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, on Wisconsin 69 south of County FF in the Town of Monroe.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Angela M. Farrey, 33, Platteville, was cited for failure to yield right-of-way at a stop sign after deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash with no injuries on Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Seymour at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27. Farrey was northbound on County O when she stopped at the stop sign at Wis. 81. She then pulled into the path of an eastbound 2013 Dodge van driven by Denis L. Toay, 71, Stockton, Ill. Passengers in both vehicles, Brian A. Loeffelholtz, 34, Darlington, and Janice Toay, 60, Stockton, also reported no injuries. Farrey's 1999 Pontiac was moderately damaged and driven from the scene. Toay's 2013 Dodge van was extensively damaged and towed.

• Several credit cards were reported stolen from a residence on Valley Road in the Town of Argyle at 10:09 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27.

• A deputy responded at 11:53 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, to a complaint of juveniles shooting a BB gun in the direction of a residence on Meadow Street in Blanchardville.
