Monroe Police



MONROE - On Saturday, Dec. 7:

• Linda Michelle Swedlund, 41, Monroe, was arrested at 5:31 p.m. in the 2000 block of 18th Avenue on a charge of bail jumping. She was jailed. Her signature bond is set at $5,000 with the conditions that she not drink or have any intoxicants in her home, that she not go into bars or liquor stores and that she begin in-patient treatment at the NewStart substance abuse program at Meriter Health Services in Madison. She has a status conference in her case Dec. 19.

• Christopher A. Chaddick, 16, Browntown, was arrested in the 100 block of 10th Street after police investigated a report at 6:14 p.m. of a hit-and-run on parked cars at SLICE Ice-skating Rink, 1632 4th Ave. W. Chaddick was charged with hit-and-run and driving while under the influence of a controlled substance (marijuana).

• A 16-year-old Browntown boy was cited for retail theft after a gas drive-off was reported at 6:17 p.m. at Phillips 66, 317 8th St. He was released to a parent pending court.

• Jerry V. Coplien, 22, Orangeville, was cited for retail theft at 7:33 p.m. at Walmart, 300 6th Ave. West. He allegedly shoplifted video games, books and darts.

• Colin J. Pehl, 18, Juda, was cited for disorderly conduct as the result of a disturbance at 9:38 p.m. at Monroe High School.

On Sunday, Dec. 8:

• Denise P. Zepeda-Cardona, 24, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated at 4:42 a.m. in the 900 block of 29th Street. She was released pending court.

• Jay C. Gonstead, 45, Monroe, was arrested at 3:51 p.m. in the 1800 block of 12th Street on a charge of bail jumping. He was jailed. His signature bond is set at $1,000 with the conditions that he not drink or go into bars or liquor stores and that he go to the Monroe Police Department between 2 and 4 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. He has a pre-trial conference set for Jan. 28.

• A 16-year-old juvenile from Browntown was arrested on a charge of retail theft at 4:15 p.m. at Stop-N-Go, 1607 9th St., then released pending court.

• Mitchell L. Rufer, 18, Monroe, was cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle after police responded at 7:31 p.m. to a two-vehicle accident without injuries in the 1000 block of 8th Street. Rufer collided with a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old Monroe woman. Both vehicles were moderately damaged.

On Monday, Dec. 9:

• Police responded to Monroe High School at 1:36 p.m. to take a 16-year-old Browntown boy into custody under a recommitment order. He was found with a baggie of marijuana, and the case was referred to Juvenile Intake.

• Police were called at 5:58 p.m. to a report of an out-of-control 15-year-old girl at a group home in the 1700 block of 15th Street. She remained in the home. The incident was referred to juvenile authorities in Dane County.

• Corissa G. Curtis, 19, and Brianna N. Golden, 20, both of Monroe, were cited for retail theft at 6:17 p.m. at Walmart, 300 6th Ave. West. They allegedly shoplifted cosmetics. Curtis was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia (a one-hitter pipe with an odor of burnt marijuana). Both were released pending court.

• Jerry L. Albright, 62, Monroe, was cited for inattentive driving after police responded at 11:29 p.m. to a two-vehicle accident without injuries in the 1000 block of 11th Avenue. Albright collided with a legally parked vehicle.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Monday, Dec. 9:

• Dustin Lee Meier, 24, Monroe, was arrested at 8:34 a.m. in the W6100 block of Wis. 11 in Cadiz Township on a Department of Corrections parole and probation warrant. He was jailed.

• Sharisey Lee Ling, 17, Argyle, was cited for driving too fast for conditions after deputies responded at 2:46 p.m. for a one-vehicle accident in Adams Township. She was southbound on Dougherty Creek Road and tried to turn right onto Apple Grove Road. She was going too fast for road conditions and the vehicle went into the ditch and hit a telephone junction box. She was uninjured. The vehicle sustained minor front-end damage and was towed from the ditch and driven from the scene.

• Both drivers were cited after deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident at 10:41 p.m. in the intersection of Wis. 81 and County T in Spring Grove Township. Shannon R. Spradlin, 43, Davis, Ill., was southbound on County T and stopped at the intersection, then continued into the intersection and collided with an eastbound vehicle on Wis. 81 driven by Joshua A. Harris, 25, Clinton. Spradlin and her two passengers reported no injuries. Her vehicle sustained moderate damage to the right rear quarter panel and rear. Harris reported no injuries. His vehicle sustained severe front-end and front right passenger-side damage and was towed. Spradlin was cited for failure to yield right-of-way. Harris was cited for failing to wear a seatbelt or have his vehicle insured.

On Tuesday, Dec. 10:

• Charles P. Guidry, 60, Evansville, was cited for hit-and-run on property adjacent to the highway and driving too fast for conditions after deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident on Wis. 92 west of County W in Exeter Township at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10. The offending vehicle fled the scene. Investigation revealed Guidry, later identified as the driver, was eastbound when he lost control on an ice-covered curve in the road. The vehicle spun around and slid into the north ditch, sideswiping a utility pole guy wire. Guidry was injured but declined medical treatment. Snow and ice on the road were contributing factors in the accident. The vehicle was severely damaged.





Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Enrique Alba, 36, Darlington, was arrested on Louisa Street on a charge of driving while intoxicated at 2:14 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. He was also cited for driving without a license.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Monday, Dec. 9:

• Rachel L. Evanoff, 26, Cuba City, was cited for an expired vehicle registration after a deputy responded at 7:45 a.m. to a two-vehicle accident on Wis. 23 in Darlington Township. Evanoff struck the side of a vehicle driven by Lynn M. Ottlendorf, 54, Platteville, as the two drivers were southbound behind a working snowplow and were experiencing limited visibility. The collision occurred when Ottlendorf and Evanoff applied their brakes behind the plow and began to slide. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were driven from the scene.

• A hit-and-run accident on Paulson Road in Blanchard Township was reported at 12:44 p.m. The suspect vehicle damaged equipment belonging to TDS Telecom and drove through a fence. The accident remains under investigation.

• A deputy responded at 5:25 p.m. to a custody dispute on Alma Street in Benton.
