Albany Police

ALBANY - A 17-year-old was cited Thursday, April 11, for unnecessary acceleration and unreasonable and imprudent speeding. The teen had been racing around the parking lot of Albany United Methodist Church, 105 S. Mill St.

• Brett B. Granzow, 23, Albany, was cited Saturday, April 13, for driving with a suspended license.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - David A. Scofield, Jr., 24, Brodhead, was arrested at 6:35 p.m. Thursday, April 11, on eight active warrants issued by the Brodhead Municipal Court. He posted cash bond and was released.

• Michael P. Morris, 56, Kirkland, Ill., was cited for a violation of heavy traffic route laws at 8:37 p.m. Sunday, April 7, in the 1500 block of West 7th Avenue.

• Stephen M. McCormack, 43, Strathroy, Ontario, was cited for a violation of heavy traffic route laws at 4:17 p.m. Monday, April 8, in the 100 block of West 7th Avenue.

• Stephanie A. Giles, 30, Orfordville, was cited Wednesday, April 10, for writing worthless checks.

• Jeremy M. Lynch, 26, Monroe, was cited Wednesday, April 10, for writing worthless checks.

• Matthew C.A. Spencer, 20, Orfordville, was cited for inattentive driving at 2:10 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the 900 block of 1st Center Avenue.

• George R. Kjelland, 62, Brodhead, was cited for creating unnecessary noise (first offense) at 12:28 p.m. Friday, April 12, in the 800 block of 1st Center Avenue.



Monroe Police

MONROE - Christopher E. Leopold, 41, Monroe, was arrested after he called police at 2:11 p.m. Friday, April 12, to report a civil dispute he was having with another person in the 300 block of 2nd Street. He was taken into custody and jailed on an outstanding warrant issued by the Monroe Police Department for possession of marijuana.

• Taylor Marie Yaun, 17, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct after police responded to a report at 4:03 p.m. Friday, April 12, that she had run away from her home in the 2000 block of 14th Avenue. Officers found Yaun about two hours later in the 1000 block of 18th Avenue. She was reportedly yelling and screaming and refusing to calm down. She was booked at the police station and released. Police responded to several other calls over the weekend reporting Yaun had run away or left her toddler daughter at home without telling anyone where she was going.

• Brandon S. Richardson, 23, Monroe, was arrested in the 2700 block of 8th 1/2 Street at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 13, on an outstanding warrant issued by the Green County Sheriff's Department for failure to pay a fine. He was jailed pending court.

• Briana Marie Hanna, 21, Monticello, was arrested on a charge of domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct after she came into the police station at 1:31 a.m. Sunday, April 14, to report she'd been punched by a family member at a home in the 1700 block of 15th Street. The family member in question also came into the police station and was walking with a cane, which led police to conclude Hanna had been the aggressor. The family member had reportedly been trying to keep Hanna from driving drunk.

• Courtney F. Klein, 22, Orangeville, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign after police responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at 20th Avenue and 6th Street at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 12. Klein collided with a vehicle driven by Patti L. Dye, 25, Monroe.

• Police responded to a report of loud music at 11:07 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the 2700 block of 8th 1/2 Street. The offender was warned.

• An officer on patrol noticed a TV and VCR on the curb in the 1300 block of 16th Avenue at 8:11 a.m. Friday, April 12. Neither item had the required garbage sticker. A warning notice was left for the property owner.

• Police responded to an anonymous complaint of garbage all over a yard in the 800 block of 25th Avenue at 10:10 a.m. Friday, April 12. A warning was left at the residence and mailed to the property owner.

• Unauthorized use of a business telephone number to make long-distance calls was reported at 2:56 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Chamber of Commerce, 1505 9th St. Police are investigating.

• Police responded to a civil dispute between family members over the sale of a car in the 1300 block of 10th Street at 3:20 p.m. Friday, April 12. The caller reported a woman hasn't paid for the car and may be driving it without a license.

• A resident in the 2800 block of 1st Street reported at 6:33 p.m. Friday, April 12, that the neighbors' dog gets into the yard and the neighbors don't clean up after it. The dog owner was warned.

• A caller in the 2300 block of 5th Avenue reported at 8:02 p.m. Friday, April 12, that she was getting prank calls from a person pretending to be interviewing her for a job at an Open Pantry convenience store. She got suspicious when she heard giggling in the background. Police called the number and warned the pranksters to stop.

• A man in the 800 block of 13th Avenue called police at 10:03 a.m. Saturday, April 13, to report that people he owes money to are calling his mother's house at 3 a.m.

• A resident in the 700 block of 17th Avenue reported at 1:08 p.m. Saturday, April 13, that the kids next door were shooting a toy gun out the backdoor and appeared to be aiming at him. Police warned the kids to be careful and talked with their parents.

• A caller at 7:28 p.m. Saturday, April 13, asked that her soon-to-be ex-boyfriend be removed from a residence in the 700 block of 17th Street because she had evidence he was cheating on her. When officers arrived, he alleged she was upset and threw a phone. Police deemed the dispute civil and no one was arrested or cited.

• An officer on patrol in Twining Park noticed at 12:28 a.m. Sunday, April 14, that someone had driven over the grass at the park, leaving ruts. The Parks and Rec Department was notified of the damage.

• Police responded to a complaint at 12:47 p.m. Sunday, April 14, that trash had been left in and around a house in the 700 block of 17th Avenue after the residents were evicted and moved out. Police notified the property owner, a bank, to clean up the property.

• A caller at 2:24 p.m. Sunday, April 14, reported being yelled at by people on a porch in the 300 block of 4th Street. The people on the porch denied it. Everyone was warned to knock it off and behave.

• At 8:54 p.m. Sunday, April 14, a woman in the 800 block of 8th Street reported being assaulted on March 12 by her boyfriend's ex-wife. She told police she has been experiencing ongoing pain related to her injuries. Police are investigating.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Michael J. Boroczk, 21, New Glarus, was arrested at 12:42 p.m. Thursday, April 11, on two active warrants issued by the Green County Circuit Court. He posted bond and was released.

• Michael W. Bentley, 60, Limestone, Tenn., was arrested at 11:52 a.m. Friday, April 12, on an active warrant issued by the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department. He posted bond and was released.

• Madeleine Hansen, 58, Massillon, Ohio, was cited for speeding in the 1100 block of Wisconsin 69 at 3:04 p.m. Sunday, April 7.

• Kendrick J. Eichelkraut, 22, Monticello, was cited for driving with a revoked license on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue at 5:37 p.m. Thursday, April 11.

• Alvin W. Walters, 31, Monticello, was cited for driving with a revoked license after police stopped him for having a defective plate lamp at 2:43 a.m. Friday, April 12, on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• Christopher S. Capps, 20, New Glarus, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance after police stopped him for having a defective headlight at 9:26 p.m. Friday, April 12, on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• Scott G. Klassy, 35, New Glarus, was cited for illegal window tinting (15 percent) after police stopped him for having no front license plate at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, April 13, on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• Police were dispatched to a location within the village at 9:29 p.m. Sunday, April 7, to check the welfare of a resident suspected of intentionally overdosing on medication. Green County deputies and Monticello and Belleville police assisted in the search for the person. After an extensive search, the person was located in Dane County. The case was handled by Madison police.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Dawn M. Obermann, 51, rural Brodhead, was arrested on domestic abuse-related charges of disorderly conduct and battery after deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on Red Cedar Avenue in Decatur Township at 11:30 p.m. Friday, April 12. Obermann was jailed pending bond or court.

• Stephen P. Murray, 45, rural Blanchardville, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct after deputies responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on County J in York Township at 11:39 p.m. Saturday, April 13. Murray was jailed pending court or bond.

• Peter J. Bonlie, 56, Bonita Springs, Fla., was arrested on a fourth-offense charge of driving while intoxicated after deputies responded to a vehicle in the ditch in the N2300 block of Bagley Road in Spring Grove Township at 11:52 p.m. Saturday, April 13. Bonlie is also cited for failure to maintain control of the vehicle. He was jailed. Since his most recent offense is more than five years ago, the charge is a misdemeanor and not a felony. He pleaded not guilty in court Monday, April 15. His signature bond is set at $900 and his cash bond at $100, with the conditions that his daughter co-sign the bond and that he not drink or enter taverns and liquor stores.

• Clayton K. Smith, 22, Milton, was arrested on a second-offense charge of driving while intoxicated after deputies responded to a rollover crash in Albany Township at 7:49 p.m. Sunday, April 14. Smith was westbound on Wis. 59 near Dunphy Road when he lost control and the vehicle went into the ditch, hit a culvert and then went up an embankment, where it became air-borne. The vehicle came to a rest on the south side of the road. Smith and a passenger were transported by Albany EMS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed. Albany police and the Albany Fire Department assisted at the scene. Smith was released to a responsible person. Other charges are pending.

• Lori J. Merwin, 50, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of driving while intoxicated after deputies responded to a rollover crash in Sylvester Township at 9:05 p.m. Sunday, April 14. Merwin was eastbound in the W4300 block of Wis. 59 when she failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle crossed the center line, entered the north gravel shoulder and collided with a guardrail. It then traveled down a steep embankment and rolled several times before coming to a rest. Merwin was transported by Green County EMS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. She is also cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle and released pending court. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed. The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Monroe Fire Department assisted at the scene.

• Pedro Diaz Xoyatla, 27, Monroe, was cited for driving with a suspended license and other traffic infractions after deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on County K south of Middle Juda Road in Clarno Township at 10:04 a.m. Saturday, April 13. Preliminary investigation shows Diaz Xoyatla entered the ditch and collided with a mailbox, then fled the scene without reporting the crash. He was uninjured. The vehicle sustained moderate front passenger-side damage and was driven from the scene. He is also cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle, hit-and-run to property adjacent to a highway, failure to notify law enforcement of a crash and driving without vehicle insurance.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Dennis J. Blum, 43, Shullsburg, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct at 2:43 p.m. Saturday, April 13, following a domestic disturbance at a residence on West Wood Street in Shullsburg. He was also arrested on a valid warrant issued by Lafayette County. He was jailed.

• David J. Brown, 39, Shullsburg, was cited for speeding on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg Township at 2:08 p.m. Friday, April 12.

• Nicholas L.A. Condon, 20, South Beloit, was cited for speeding on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg Township at 5:42 p.m. Friday, April 12.

• Callie E. Fitzgerald, 22, Genoa City, was cited for speeding on Wis. 11 in Wayne Township at 7:32 p.m. Friday, April 12.

• Garris V. Covington, 20, Kenosha, was cited for speeding and driving with a suspended license on Wis. 11 in Wayne Township at 8:46 p.m. Friday, April 12.

• Renee A. Wunderlin, 39, Cuba City, was cited for speeding on County H in Benton Township at 7:13 a.m. Saturday, April 13.

• Kelly A. Heinrichs, 29, Belmont, was cited for speeding on County H in Benton Township at 7:35 a.m. Saturday, April 13.

• Bryan J. Baker, 21, Cuba City, was cited for speeding on County H in Benton Township at 2:39 p.m. Saturday, April 13.

• Anthony M. Hokaj, 53, Blanchardville, was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle after deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident on County F in Blanchard Township at 4:43 p.m. Saturday, April 13. Hokaj was eastbound, attempting to turn right on Old Q Road, when he reported he got distracted with operating the radio. This caused the vehicle to turn wide, cross the opposite lane of traffic and hit a stop sign and informational road sign. The 2003 Ford he was driving was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

• Kendra A. Bonk, 24, Cuba City, was cited for unsafe lane deviation on Wis. 11 in Benton at 10:57 p.m. Saturday, April 13.

• Liliana Espino Hernandez, 24, Monroe, Wash., was cited for speeding on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg Township at 1:56 p.m. Sunday, April 14.

• Clifford E. Berghefer, 75, Hampton, Iowa, was cited for speeding on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg Township at 2:22 p.m. Sunday, April 14.
