NEW GLARUS - A New Glarus man was arrested for driving a vehicle while intoxicated after he hit a building.
New Glarus Police responded to the 100 block of 5th Avenue at 2:01 p.m. after a report came in that a vehicle hit building. Reports indicate that a vehicle driven by Steven J. Hodgson, 53, failed to maintain control of a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Hodgson was also cited for driving with a prohibited alcohol concentration and driving a vehicle without insurance.
The building foundation, gas meter, water supply and telephone lines were damaged. WE Energies was contacted due to damage to the gas meter. The vehicle received severe damage and it was towed.
There were no injuries were reported. Hodgson was released to a responsible person.
