Mary J. Schulz, age 91 of Monroe, died Friday, July 15, 2016 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on December 6, 1924 in Orangeville, Illinois, the daughter of Leslie and Mary Irene (Morris) Schwitz. She graduated from Orangeville High School. Mary married Lester Schulz on October 6, 1950 in Martintown. She was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Susan (Dennis) Crooks of Orangeville, IL, Cathy (Kevin) Carpenter of Freeport, IL, and Peggy (Mark) Severson of Warren, IL; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Schulz of Rockford, IL; son-in-law, Jeff Babler of AZ; 8 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Gary, daughter, Marlyn Babler; 3 brothers; 3 sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Monroe United Methodist Church, with Reverend Randy Booth officiating. Private burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeport at a later date. A visitation will be held Saturday, from 10:00 am until the time of service, at the church. SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home is assisting the family. The family would like to thank Pleasant View Nursing Home and the staff for their support, kindness and wonderful care given to our mother during her stay there.
