DARLINGTON - Marjorie "Marge" Olson, age 77 of Darlington, WI, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Lafayette County Manor in Darlington surrounded by her family. She was born on June 16, 1931 in Lamont Township to Clarence and Nellie (Kammerud) Jacobson. She attended Mud Branch School and graduated from Darlington High School. On January 26, 1951, she was united in marriage to Richard G. Olson in Mt. Horeb, WI. They shared 50 years of marriage until Dick's death on December 2, 2001. Marge worked for Advance Transformer in Monroe and retired after 24 years. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and of its Council of Catholic Women. Marge enjoyed refinishing furniture with her husband. She also enjoyed needle point, word searches, reading, and playing cards at family get togethers. She will be forever remembered for her homemade donuts and her homemade baby quilts.

Survivors include her children: Cathy (Verle) Sargent of Shullsburg, Rick (Bets) Olson, Randy (Mary) Olson both of Ripon, Beth (Kevin) Andrews of Darlington, Mary (BK) Kolden of Monroe, Ray Olson of Ripon, and Melissa (Wayne) Gollmer of Darlington; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her brothers: Carroll (Mary) and Oliver (Kay) Jacobson both of Darlington; her sister: Noda Schwartz of Monroe; two sisters-in-law: Dolores Jacobson of Darlington and Joan Kammerud of Blanchardville; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick; her son, Robbie Olson in 2004; a great-grandson, Blake Sargent in 1994; a sister, Elizabeth Grobb; and two brothers: Leland Kammerud and Howard Jacobson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at HOLY ROSARY CATHOLIC CHURCH in Darlington with Fr. Randy Budnar officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at STEIL CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 206 E. Harriet Street, Darlington, WI where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m.
