COTTAGE GROVE/PLAIN - Marjorie A. Powell age 67 of Cottage Grove passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born on August 5, 1945 the daughter of Harold and Teresa (Volk) Weitzel of Plain, WI. Marjorie was very proud of her 2 grandchildren and loved spending time with her family, working in her flower beds, decorating and organizing. She was a phenomenal business woman, owning and operating Marge's Amoco Station in Madison for over 20 years. Survivors include, her 3 children, Linda (David) Gissing of Monroe, Joel (Karen) Mittelstaedt of Sauk City, Kelly Mittelstaedt of Madison, 2 grandchildren, Brandon and Garret Mittelstaedt, her mother, Teresa Weitzel of Plain, her special friend, Mick McGinley of Cottage Grove, a sister, the father of Marjorie's 3 children, Gerald (Kathy) Mittelstaedt of Portage, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Weitzel, 3 brothers, Tom, Rich and Jim Weitzel. A Mass in Marjorie's memory will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Plain, WI with Fr. Mike Resop officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green, WI from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. and again on Saturday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass. Christmas is a special day and only special people get taken on special days to become a Christmas Angel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
