Maria Cesira "Mimma" Jaramillo, age 78 of Monroe, died on Friday, February 5, 2010, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 18, 1931 in Lima, Peru, the daughter of Bruna Ghibillini and Giuseppe Avanzino. Maria Cesira attended Colegio Italiano in Lima.
Mimma and Carlos A. Jaramillo were married at the Municipality of San Isidro in Lima, Peru on November 24, 1951, at La Iglesia Maria del Pilar. They came to Monroe in 1967. She spoke Spanish, English and Italian. She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking and gemology. Mimma loved spending time with her family and caring for her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. Carlos A. Jaramillo; children, Maria del Pilar (Gerald) Bayer of Green Bay, Maria Rocio del Carmen Jaramillo of Chicago, IL, Carlos Alberto (Adriana) Jaramillo of Madison, Maria Teresa Jaramillo-Bray of Minneapolis, MN, and Maria Mercedes (Mark) Giallombardo of New Jersey; brother, Gerolamo Avanzino Ghibellini; grandchildren, Karla (James) Schmidt, Michael Kurt Bayer, John Thomas Bayer, David Gerald Bayer, Carlos Alberto Jaramillo, Maria Elizabeth Jaramillo, Cristina (Adam) Kulmann, David Andrew Bray, Laura Maria Bray, Antony Gialombardo, Dominique Gialombardo, Gabriela Gialombardo; and great-grandchild, Colton Otto Schmidt. She was predeceased by her parents, and grandchildren, Michael Bray and Audrie Marie Bray.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010, at St. Victor Catholic Church with Celebrant Fr. Michael E. Klarer. Per family wishes no visitation will be held. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe. A memorial fund is being established in Mimma's name.
