Margery J. Roderick age 96 of Monroe, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. Margery was born May 28, 1917 in Dalhart, Texas, the daughter of Charles and Myrtle (Divan) Geil. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1934 and married Roy Howard Roderick on June 6, 1936 in Dixon, IL. Margery worked as a sales representative for the World Book Encyclopedia for 20 years and she and Roy managed Villa East Apartments in Monroe for 25 years. She was a woman of great faith which was an inheritance from her parents as her father was studying to be a medical missionary. Her life was a life of service to others. She was a faithful member of the Monroe Bible Church where she had served as a deaconess. Margery was an amazing seamstress who loved making clothes and patchwork comforters that will be treasured by her family.

She is survived by four children, Loletia (Ronald) Rear of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Lowell (Sandra) Roderick of Sun City, Arizona, Jennifer Reese of Monroe, and Cheryl Kenna of Mesa, Arizona; nine grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Carol Ann; son-in-law, Edward Kenna; a sister, Juanita Liddicoat; and two brothers, Ivan and Dale Geil.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at the Monroe Bible Church with Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in Margery's name for the Monroe Bible Church.
