ALBANY - A 48-year-old Stoughton man was arrested late Saturday, June 16, on a charge of driving drunk with passengers younger than 16, according to Albany police.

James J. Wittrock was stopped at 8:47 p.m. near the intersection of Mechanic Street and Cincinnati Street, according to police. Two of his passengers were younger than 16 (ages 11 and 15), which adds an extra penalty to the charge.

Wittrock made an initial appearance Monday in Green County Circuit Court on an unclassified felony charge stemming from the incident.

Police say it is his third offense of driving while intoxicated.
