MONTICELLO - Police say a 41-year-old man stabbed another man following an "extended verbal dispute" inside a Monticello tavern Monday evening, Sept. 17.
Bryan S. Adams, Monticello, faces a charge of recklessly endangering safety by stabbing a 39-year-old man, also of Monticello, after the men took their alcohol-fueled fight outside behind the Bank of Monticello, 238 North Main St.
According to a report from the Green County Sheriff's Department, Adams told deputies the other man attacked him and that he stabbed him in self-defense.
The 39-year-old was transported to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison for an injury deputies say is not life-threatening.
