Madonna Marie Tranel age 80 of Monroe, Wisconsin died Thursday, January 2, 2014. She was born June 25, 1933 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of George and Gertrude (Koenig) Frommelt and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Immaculate Conception High School.

Madonna married Richard Tranel on October 10, 1953 at Sacred Heart Church in Dubuque, Iowa. She was a secretary at Metropolitan Life Insurance and Giese Sheet Metal in Dubuque, IA, owned and managed Slender Center Weight Loss in Monroe and Freeport for 15 years, and was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church and Homemakers Club in Monroe.

Surviving are her husband, Richard Tranel of Monroe; daughters, Sandra (Birge) Braun of Browntown, Michelle (Frank) Johnson of Sterling, IL, Tammy Tranel of Monroe, Jacqueline (Dick) Wyss of Monroe, Angele Tranel of Monroe; son, Roch (Kat) Tranel of Libertyville, IL; sister, Lucille Hartford of Farley, IA; 9 grandchildren, Jeremy, Cody, and Tyler Braun, Mark and Matthew Johnson, Stewart Wyss, Kyle Tranel, and Alec and Jenna Tranel; and 2 great-grandchildren, Weston and Lila Braun. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Donald, Art, and George Frommelt; and sisters, Marcella (Nick) Behnke, Ruth (Herman) Behnke, Bernice (Earl) Kiefer, and Marie Frommelt all of Dubuque, IA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, January 6, 2014 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe with Fr. Larry Bakke as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. Monday until the time of Mass at the church.
