M. Arlyn Elmer age 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1993, formerly of Elgin, Illinois, passed away on December 24, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha; children, Theresa (Jeff) Ahle, Craig (Mary Pat) Elmer, Randal (Stephanie) Elmer and Candace (Nigel) Sargent; grandchildren, Kevin Ahle, Brooke Elmer, Cassidy Elmer and Andrew Sargent; one sister, Shila (Dave) Froehlich. Arlyn was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Leila Elmer and grandson Ryan Ahle. He graduated with a degree in engineering at University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He retired after 35 years of employment as a civil engineer with IL Dept. of Transportation. He enjoyed biking, hiking, skiing, traveling and woodcarving at Los Volcanes Senior Center.
