Green County Sheriff

On August 30:

● At 11:00 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for operating left of center in the W8300 block of County Highway C, in the Town of Adams. Investigation resulted in the operator, Steven J. Mick, 49 of Argyle being placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence (4th offense-alcohol). Mick was further cited for Operating Left of Center. Mick was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending an initial court appearance. 

On August 31: 

● At 11:16 p.m., Deputies responded to the W7400 block of State Highway 81, in the Town of Jordan, for the report of a vehicle stopped in the roadway. Investigation resulted in Austin J. Penniston, 42 of Argyle being placed under arrest for Operate While Under the Influence (4th Offense). Penniston was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending an initial court appearance.

On September 2:

●At approximately 6:25 p.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of Franklin Rd. and Allen Rd., Town of Cadiz, for a report of a vehicle on its side. Investigation revealed the operator, Raiden J. Mayberry, 21 of Juda, was traveling west through the intersection when his vehicle sustained a malfunction. The vehicle entered the west ditch line, where it partially rolled and came to a rest on its side. Raiden was not injured, reported wearing his seatbelt and there was no airbag deployment. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage, and Raiden was cited for Operating While Suspended.

● At approximately 10:53 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the N7000 block of State Highway 69. Investigation resulted in a passenger, Misael Olmos-Garcia, 26 of Monroe, being placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant. Misael was also cited for Obstructing for providing false identification. Misael was transported to the Green County Jail where he will be held pending his initial court appearance. 

On September 3:

● At approximately 9:22 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of S. Mechanic St., Village of Albany, for a vehicle operating with no headlamps on. Investigation resulted in the operator, Alexis A. Deminter, 24 of Rio, WI, being placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol - 1st Offense. Alexis was later released to a responsible party with a future court date.

● At approximately 9:56 p.m., Deputies responded to the N5500 block of County Highway N, Town of Washington, for a report of a severely damaged vehicle in the roadway. Investigation determined the operator, Maynor Espinoza-Centeno, 30 of Auburndale, was traveling southbound on CTH N when he entered the east ditch. The vehicle then crossed back over the roadway, entered the west ditch and struck a limestone embankment. The vehicle was then forced back into the roadway from the impact, where it came to a rest. Maynor reported wearing his seatbelt and not being injured. The vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment and was towed from the scene. Further investigation resulted in Maynor being placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol - 1st Offense. Maynor was also cited for Operating Without a License, Operating Without Insurance, Non-Registration of Auto, Failure to Maintain Control of his Vehicle, and Prohibited Alcohol Concentration. Maynor was transported to the Green County Jail where he will be held pending release to a responsible party.

On September 5:

● At 3:49 p.m., Deputies responded to the 2800 block of 6th Street, in the City of Monroe, to assist Department of Corrections Agents. Investigation resulted in Micki F. Nafzger, 29 of Monticello being arrested for a Probation Violation. Nafzger was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.


Lafayette County Sheriff

On August 31:

● 2:38 p.m. Deputies responded to N Center ST in the City of Shullsburg for an assault. Steven H Curran, 56, Shullsburg was cited for Battery. David J Walton, 63, Shullsburg was cited for Disorderly Conduct.

On September 1:

● 1:12 p.m. Woodford First Response and Argyle EMS responded to STH 78, Wiota Township for a one vehicle motorcycle accident. Brian W. Bahr, 31, Adell, WI was traveling on STH 78 on his 2012 Kawasaki when he lost control. Bahr was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Bahr’s motorcycle received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Deputies assisted.

On September 2:

● 2:44 a.m. Cecil T. Knutson, 50, Livingston was traveling on W Mound RD, Belmont Township when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a Stop Sign and struck a rock wall. Knutson’s 2015 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Knutson was cited for Leaving the Scene of an Accident. 

● 9:38 a.m. Deputies responded to Galena ST, Village of Argyle for a domestic dispute. As a result, Alexandra M. Wooley, 23, Fort Atkinson was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Wooley was transported to Lafayette County Jail where she was booked and remains.

● 2:31 p.m. Germain Ortiz-Leon, 30, Belmont was arrested for OWI (2nd First Offense) on CTH G, Belmont Township. Ortiz-Leon was transported to Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office and later released to a responsible party. 

● 5:49 p.m. Gesiel M. Licona, 17, Darlington was cited for OWL (1st Offense) and Failure to Fasten Seat Belt (passenger) on Main ST, City of Darlington.

● 6:47 p.m. Peter E. Meehan JR, 40, McHenry was cited for OWI (UTV), OWI Resual(UTV), and Non Registration of UTV on Ames RD, Darlington Township. In addition, Meehan’s passenger, Lynn A. Meehan, 64, Lakemoor was cited for Failure to Fasten Seat Belt.

● 7:06 p.m. A deputy responded to Main ST, Village of Gratiot for a two vehicle accident. 

On September 3:

● 1:24 a.m. Deputies, Lafayette County EMS and Darlington Fire responded to Hirsbrunner RD, Fayette Township for a motorcycle accident. Tyler J Williams, 26, South Wayne was traveling on Hirsbrunner RD when he lost control of his 2003 Harley. Williams was air lifted to the hospital due to receiving severe injuries from the crash. Williams’s 2003 Harley received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. 

● 3:23 a.m. A deputy responded to E Louisa ST, City of Darlington for a check welfare. As a result, Deyvin J. Artica-Lagos, 31, Platteville was arrested for Resisting and Obstruction. Artica-Lagos was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later released after posting bond. 

● 8:05 a.m. Darlington Fire responded to Wardsville RD, Seymour Township for a shed fire. Lafayette County EMS, Shullsburg Fire, Darlington Police, and a deputy assisted.


Monroe Police

On August 31:

● 10:38 a.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with reported injuries at the intersection of STH 69 and 6th Street. An investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Mark H. Johnson, 55, Gratiot, was southbound on STH 69, and rear-ended another southbound vehicle, operated by a 54-year-old Forreston, IL, woman. An 8l-year-old passenger, in the vehicle that was rear-ended, was transported by Green County EMS to the hospital for reported minor injuries. Both vehicles sustained minor damages. Johnson was cited for motor vehicle following too closely and released pending a court appearance.
