Brodhead Police

On Sept. 19

● 10:09 p.m., Police responded to the 500 block of 1st Center Ave for the report on an Animal Problem; subject chased by dog at large. When officers arrived in the area, the dog had already left. Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate the dog. 

● 10:22 p.m., Police responded to the 700 block of 23rd St for the report of Suspicious Activity; vehicle in lot after hours. Contact with the occupant was made and it was found to be an individual waiting for someone to get off work. Officers advised subject to speak with Kwik Trip to see if they could wait there, driver left the area. 

On Oct. 2:

● 9:34 a.m., Police responded to the 1000 block of 12th St for the report of Vandalism; vandalism to a vehicle. This matter remains under investigation. 

● 10:58 a.m., a 63 year old Janesville man was cited in the 500 block of 1st St for Non-Registration of an Automobile. 

● 11:47 a.m., a 20 year old Monroe woman was cited in the 400 block of 1st St for Speeding. 

● 12:01 p.m., a 33 year old Brodhead man was cited in the 500 block of 1st Center Ave for Dog At Large following an Animal Problem complaint. 

● 1:59 p.m., Police responded to the 500 block of E Exchange St for the report of an Animal Problem; dogs at large. Owners were located and dogs were returned. 

On Oct. 3:

● 11:39 a.m., Police responded to the 1100 block of W 3rd Ave for the report of a Theft from a business. This matter remains under investigation. 

● 3:22 p.m., Police responded to the 400 block of E 5th Ave for the report of verbal Harassment; complaintant-receiving harassing phone call. Contact with a subject involved was attempted.

 ● 4:42 p.m., Police responded to the 100 block of 1st Center Ave for the report of a Hazard; phone line box open. This case was turned over to Frontier. 


Darlington Police

On Aug 13:

● Sawyer J. Gough, age 21, of Rewey, was cited at approximately 7:23 p.m. for operating while suspended following a traffic stop on STH 81.

On Aug 14:

● Whitney O. Wieters, age 30, of Shullsburg was cited at approximately 3:27 a.m. for operating without a valid license following a traffic stop on Main Street.

● Darnell V. Brinson, age 25, of Chicago, was cited at approximately 7:26 p.m. for possession of THC following a traffic stop on STH 81.

● Isaac Gutierrez, age 28, of Darlington, was issued a citation for dogs running at large, following an animal complaint on August 9th.

On Aug 21:

● Jose A. Gonzalez-Pena, age 18, of Darlington, was cited for underage consumption of alcohol following an incident on Division St.  

● Milton J. Pena-Velasquez, age 20, of Darlington, was cited for underage consumption of alcohol following an investigation into a noise complaint on Madison St. 

● Deyvin J. Artica-Lagos, age 30, of Platteville, was cited for loud and unnecessary noise following a noise complaint on Madison St. 

● Santos F. Soto-Alvarez, age 43, of Darlington, was cited for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle following an investigation into a noise complaint on Madison St. 


Monticello Police

On Sept. 7:

● At approximately 4:05 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on State Hwy 69 at W. Coates Avenue for an observed traffic violation.  As a result of the traffic stop, Dalton F. Beck, 20, of Albany was cited for a driver’s seatbelt violation and operating a vehicle with tires with less than 2/32” tread.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

● At approximately 4:30 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on State Hwy 69 at W. Coates Avenue for an observed traffic violation.  As a result of the traffic stop, Bryant S. Kauk, 28, of Brodhead was cited for a driver’s seatbelt violation.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

On Sept. 9:

● At approximately 7:30 a.m., Officers were notified a truancy situation at the Monticello Public Schools.  The matter was documented and no further action was needed at this time. 

● At approximately 9:42 p.m., Officers were requested to assist the Green County Sheriff’s Office with reported debris on the roadway in the area of State Hwy 69 and County Hwy NN.  

● At approximately 10:12 a.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Main Street for a report of a stray dog wandering around.  A posting was placed on Facebook and the dog’s owner was located. 

● At approximately 11:40 a.m., Officers responded within the Village for an emergency medical call.  Green County EMS and Monticello First Response also responded. 

On Sept 10:

● At 8:32 p.m., Officers conducted traffic control at the intersection of N. Main Street and E. Coates Avenue for Monticello Fire First Response who were responding to a medical emergency call outside of the village.

On Sept. 11:

● At approximately 12:08 a.m., Officers were requested to assist, under mutual aid, to the 100 block of 5th Avenue in New Glarus to assist the Green County Sheriff’s Department with a reported fight in progress.  The incident was investigated by the Green County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sept. 12:

● At approximately 8:36 a.m., Officers were notified of electrical flashes seen in the 100 block of N. Main Street. Alliant Energy was notified and responded.  

● At approximately 12:25 p.m., Officers were dispatched within the Village for a welfare check.  A mental health assessment was completed by Northwest Connections.  Everything was determined to be okay at the residence. 

● At approximately 1:50 p.m., Officers responded to the area of E. Coates Avenue and N. Main Street for a report of a dog at running at large.  The dog was captured and returned to its owner a short time later. 

On Sept. 14:

● At approximately 1:02 p.m., Officers received a report of a code violation in the 200 block of E. Lake Avenue.  Eric B. Carroll, 63, Brodhead was cited for grass greater than eight inches. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

● At approximately 5:03 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation on State Hwy 69 at W. Coates Avenue.  As a result of the traffic stop, Kody R. Spohn, 24, Monticello was cited for a driver’s seatbelt violation.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

● At approximately 6:15 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed trafficioation on State Hwy 69 at W. Coates Avenue.  As a result of the traffic stop, Cesar Huitzil Arevalo, 30, Monroe was cited for excessive window tinting and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

● At approximately 8:18 p.m., Officers were contacted by a citizen in the 100 block of E. North Avenue in reference to some found property.  The owners of the found property were located and the item(s) were returned to the owner. 


Lafayette County Sheriff

On Sept.1:

● 2:14 p.m. Gratiot First and Green County EMS responded to Larse RD, Wayne Township for a medical emergency. A deputy assisted on scene.

 ● 3:50 p.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to S Judgement ST in the City for a medical emergency. A deputy assisted on scene.

● 6:40 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH W, New Diggings Township for a traffic hazard.

● 6:51 p.m  A deputy responded to Woodberry RD, Lamont Township for a traffic hazard.

 ● 7:03 p.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to W High ST in the City for a medical emergency. A deputy assisted on scene.

 ● 8:57 p.m.  Shullsburg EMS responded to E Truth ST in the City for a medical emergency. A deputy assisted on scene.

● 10:27 p.m. A deputy assisted Darlington Police with a traffic stop on STH 23, Darlington Township.

● 11:13 p.m. Brandon M Wilson, 24, Lancaster was arrested on warrants through Lafayette County. Wilson was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he remains in custody.

On Sept. 2:

● 3:13a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to Fayette Rd, Darlington Township for a medical emergency.

● 1:04p.m. Cade R Kirkpatrick, 32, Belmont was arrested on CTH K, City of Darlington for a Probation and Parole violation. Darlington Police Department transported Kirkpatrick to the Lafayette County Jail where he remains in custody. 

● 2:33p.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to STH 81, Seymour Township for a medical emergency.   

● 3:45 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH Y, Argyle Township for a theft complaint.

● 4:31p.m. A deputy responded to STH 78, Blanchard Township for a traffic complaint of an erratic driver. 

● 5:10 p.m.  A deputy responded to W Mound View Av, Village of Belmont for a property damage complaint.  Alan K Bouche, 58, Milan IL was parked in a stall getting fuel in his 2019 Chevrolet and pulling a 2017 Passport travel trailer.  Bouche pulled out of the stall and struck a pole with his trailer.  Bouche’s travel trailer received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. 

● 5:45 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH G, Belmont Township for an animal bite. 

● 5:47 p.m. A deputy responded to N Center St, City of Shullsburg for a two vehicle accident. David J Walton, 62, Shullsburg was parked in a driveway on N Center St with his 2000 Chevrolet. Walton backed out of his driveway and struck the Shullsburg Police Department’s 2015 Ford.  Both vehicles received minor damage and were driven from the scene. Walton was cited for Unsafe Backing and No Rearview Mirror.  

● 6:39 p.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to Thompson Ln, Town of Monticello for a medical emergency.  Deputy assisted on scene.  

● 7:20 p.m.  A deputy responded to Dublin Rd, Darlington Township for check welfare.  

● 10:41p.m. A deputy responded to Ludlum Ln, Town of Belmont for suspicious activity. 

On Sept. 3:

● 1:00 a.m.  A deputy responded to Main St, Village of Argyle for a hit and run.

● 2:53 a.m. Anthony L Horton Jr, 20, Cedar Rapids IA was cited for Absolute Sobriety, Speeding and No Insurance on USH 151, Belmont Township.

● 3:56 a.m. Brooklyn R Barth, 21, Dickeyville was cited for Operating While Intoxicated 1st at USH 151, Belmont Township.

● 8:23 a.m. Blanchardville responded to STH 78, Town of Blanchard for a barn fire. Argyle Fire Department and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources assisted on scene.

● 10:06 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to CTH G, Darlington Township for a medical emergency. 


Green County Sheriff

On Sept. 2:

● At 8:03 p.m., Deputies responded to the N1300 block of CTH HK, Town of Cadiz, for a report of a one vehicle crash with no injuries. Investigation found the driver Gavin Richards, 21, of Madison, was traveling west bound on CTH B and began to turn south bound onto CTH HK where the vehicle had lost traction due to the loose gravel along the roadway. The vehicle entered the west ditch where it tipped on its passenger side and came to a rest. Richards and his passengers, claimed no injuries and were wearing their safety belts. The vehicle had sustained disabling damage, air bag deployment, and was towed from the scene. Richards was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle and was released with a non-mandatory court date.
