Green County Sheriff

On October 27:

● At approximately 5:54 a.m., deputies responded to the W4300 blk of STH 59, Town of Sylvester, for a car vs. deer crash.  The operator, Angela A. Kline, 46 of Browntown, was traveling east bound on STH 59, when a deer entered the roadway, striking her vehicle.  The vehicle sustained functional damage with no airbag deployment.  Angela reported wearing her seatbelt and not being injured.  Further investigation resulted in Angela being placed under arrest for an active warrant for Failure to Support.  Angela was transported to the Green County Jail where she will be held.  Angela was also cited for Operating without a Valid License - 1st Offense.

● At approximately 12:23 p.m., Deputies responded to the Green County Probation and Parole Office and placed Kyle A. Ralph, 37 of Monroe, under arrest for a Probation Hold. Kyle was transported to the Green County Jail where he will be held.


Monroe Police

On October 25:

● At 7:48 p.m., officers arrested James M. Penegar, 26, Monroe, in the 1500 block of 18th Street, following a traffic offense stop. Penegar was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-1st offense. Penegar was booked and released to a responsible person pending a court appearance. 

On October 26: 

● At 9:41 p.m., officers were called to a complaint alleging that a person was violating bail conditions at a residence in the 2300 block of 17th Avenue. An investigation led to the arrest of Aaron N. Mazahreh, 46, Monroe, on a charge of felony bail jumping due to a violation of bail conditions from a prior case. Mazahreh was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.

On October 28:

● At 6:08 p.m., officers responded to a residential parking lot in the 100 block of County Highway N, City of Monroe, for a reported hit and run motor vehicle accident with no reported injuries. The investigation led to the arrest of Brian J. Nelis, 61, Monroe, on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-5th offense. Nelis was also cited for non-registration of a vehicle and operating without insurance. Nelis was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.


Lafayette County Sheriff

On October 27:

● 6:55 a.m. William M. Jenkins, 33, Platteville reported striking a deer on STH 81, Elk Grove Township. Jenkins’ 2015 Toyota received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 7:11 a.m. Anthony R. Martinez, 26, Warren reported striking a deer on CTH W, Benton Township. Martinez’s 2021 Subaru received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 9:58 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 81, Elk Grove Township for a 2 vehicle accident.

● 11:04 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH G, Willow Springs Township for a disorderly dispute. As a result, Geontae M. Gillespie-Murray, 2, Mineral Point was arrested for Bail Jumping. Gillespie-Murray was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and remains.

● 11:40 p.m. Christopher E. Bussan, 50, Gratiot reported striking a deer on STH 11, Gratiot Township. Bussan’s 2017 Jeep received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On October 29:

● 12:04 a.m. Antoinette Hammill, 50, Benton reported striking a deer on Bennett RD, New Diggings Township. Hammill’s 2017 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

● 12:18 a.m. Deputies responded to Washington ST, City of Darlington for a disorderly dispute. As a result, Brian P. Winslow, 48, Darlington was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Obstruction, and Battery to Law Enforcement. Winslow was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and remains. Lafayette County EMS assisted. 

● 3:08 a.m. Danielle S. White, 33, Dodgeville reported striking a deer on STH 23, Willow Springs Township. The 2021 Kia that White was operating received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

● 8:19 p.m. Marcio A. Martinez-Medina, 35, Darlington was arrested for Operating without a Valid License (OWL 3rd +) and Obstruction on STH 23, Darlington Township. Martinez-Medina was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later released after posting bond.

● 8:33 p.m. Raymond L. Gerloff, 48, Beloit reported striking a deer on STH 11, Village of South Wayne. Gerloff’s 2020 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On October 30:

● 5:10 a.m. Rachel J Meyer, 26, Mineral Point reported striking a deer on CTH G, Argyle Township. No injuries were reported and Meyer’s 2003 Ford received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
