Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Nov. 15 to Nov. 21, police performed 44 security checks, 17 citizen assists, eight assists of other agencies, nine follow-ups to incidents, one vehicle registration and three traffic stops; responded to 35 calls for service and reported 12 EMS calls, 10 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and one fire call. No detox or mental health transports were reported.

On Nov. 15:

●  Vehicles parked in a lot after-hours were reported at 4:29 a.m. in the 700 block of 21st Street. Police found no evidence of suspicious activity.

●  An unattended vehicle running in a lot after-hours was reported at 6:51 p.m. in the 1500 block of 1st Center Avenue. The owner reported the vehicle was accidentally started remotely.

●  A dog at large was reported at 10:16 p.m. in the 200 block of Cedar Avenue. The owners found the dog and secured it.

●  A vehicle in violation of the city’s Junk Vehicle ordinance was reported at 10:46 p.m. in the 1100 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  Trash bins in the roadway were reported at 11:44 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Exchange Street. Officers removed the bins from the road.

●  A vehicle in a lot after-hours was reported at 11:50 p.m. in the 200 block of 1st Street. Police found no evidence of suspicious activity. 

●  A vehicle in violation of the city’s 48-hour parking ordinance was reported at 8:47 a.m. Nov. 16 in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  Vandalism involving a house and car being “egged” was reported at 1:32 p.m. Nov. 17 in the 200 block of East 5th Avenue.

●  A dog bite was reported at 10:07 a.m. Nov. 18 in the 700 block of 17th Street.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 4:50 p.m. Nov. 19  in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Contact was made, and the driver provided proof of payment.

On Nov. 20:

●  A Brodhead man, 25, was arrested for three counts of bail jumping at 12:26 a.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  Two dogs at large were reported at 7:14 a.m. in the 100 block of 14th Street. Police were unable to catch the dogs.

●  A dog at large was reported at 8:13 a.m. in the 500 block of 11th Street. Police were unable to catch the dog.

●  An Orangeville man, 49, was cited for speeding at 4:25 p.m. in the 400 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  A Brodhead woman, 20, was arrested on a Green County warrant at 10:11 p.m. in the 800 block of West 3rd Avenue.

●  A Monroe man, 47, was cited for parking a heavy vehicle on the roadway without a permit at 9:58 a.m. Nov. 21 in the 700 block of 17th Street.


Monroe Police

MONROE — On Nov. 20:

●  Charles W. Anderson, 41, Monroe, was arrested for two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping at 12:22 a.m. in the 1300 block of 17th Street. He was also cited for driving while suspended. He was jailed.

●  Hector Manuel Guerra Jr., 48, Monroe, was arrested on a Green County warrant for failing to appear in court on previous charges at 1:39 a.m. in the 1900 block of 9th Street. He was also charged with felony bail jumping. He was jailed.


Green county Sheriff

   MONROE — Bradley Rear, 57, Monroe, was arrested at 8:36 a.m. Nov. 16 in the 2800 block of 6th Street in Monroe on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections hold. He was jailed.

On Nov. 18:

●  Angel Sanchez, 30, Middleton, was cited for speeding and a second-offense charge within three years of driving without a valid license at 8:33 a.m. in the N5200 block of Wis. 104, Town of Albany.

●  Isaiah Ramos, 24, Freeport, was cited for speeding and a third-offense charge within three years of driving without a valid license at 11:28 a.m. in the N4500 block of Wis. 69, Town of Monroe.

●  Trevor A. Smith, 21, Orfordville, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating under the influence of drugs and a second-offense charge of possession of marijuana at 12:47 p.m. Nov. 19 in the W5200 block of Wis. 11, Town of Monroe. He was also arrested on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections probation hold and cited for speeding. He was jailed pending court.

●  A deputy attempted to stop a vehicle speeding 91 mph in a 55 mph zone at 11:15 a.m. in the N500 block of Wis. 69, Town of Clarno. The driver failed to stop and continued south into Illinois. Stephenson County deputies located the offending vehicle in the 200 block of South Mill Street in Orangeville and arrested the driver, Ryan L. Nath, 61, Orangeville, on a charge of operating while under the influence. He was jailed. The Green County deputy cited Nath for speeding, driving without a valid license, fleeing an officer and reckless driving.

DARLINGTON —

On Nov. 6:

●  An injured deer was reported at 5:56 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Lamont.

●  Damage to mailboxes from a hit-and-run crash was reported at 8:46 p.m. on Carr Factory Road, Town of Benton. The driver, Christopher A. Sweet, 43, Cuba City, was cited.

●  A deputy assisted Belmont police with a traffic complaint at 9:22 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

On Nov. 7:

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 12:39 a.m. on Oneil Road.

●  A deputy responded for a citizen assist at 4:50 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 6:29 a.m. on County I, Town of New Diggings, and at 11:17 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.

●  An injured deer was reported at 12:41 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle.

●  An abandoned vehicle was reported at 1:40 p.m. to Wildcat Road, Town of Darlington.

●  A parking problem was reported at 4:30 p.m. on Aetna Road, Town of New Diggings.

●  An ATV complaint was reported at 5:47 p.m. on Russell Road, Town of Kendall.

●  Bryan L. Strommen, 46, Monroe, was cited for possession of THC at 6:41 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy responded for a civil dispute at 6:54 p.m. on Chapman Road, Town of Gratiot.

●  Rodney W. Timmerman, 43, Oregon, was cited at 9:13 p.m. for violating the 30 mph speed limit on an ATV.

●  A deputy assisted Belmont police with a traffic stop at 11:48 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

On Nov. 8:

●  Damage to a mailbox and fences was reported at 10:37 a.m. on Wicks Road, Town of Gratiot.

●  Damage to a street sign was reported at 10:53 a.m. on West Water Street in Shullsburg. It was referred to Shullsburg police.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 11:10 a.m. on West Peace Street in Shullsburg.

●  Damage to a fence and several wires cut back in a field was reported at 11:36 a.m. on Wayne Center Road, Town of Wayne.

●  Property damage was reported at 1:29 p.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs. A car slid off a flatbed tow truck and struck a garage.

●  5:02 PM Matthew J Eaton, 47, Evansville reported striking a deer on STH 11, Shullsburg Township. No injuries were reported and Eaton’s 2014 Toyota received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

●  Trespassing was reported at 7:55 p.m. on Woodberry Road, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Morgan A. Bittner, 20, Beloit, was cited for speeding at 8:16 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour.

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with a domestic dispute at 8:38 p.m. on Keep Street in Darlington.

On Nov. 9:

●  Hector V. Velasquez-Sinay, 31, Argyle, was cited for driving without a license at 3:47 a.m. on County O, Town of Seymour.

●  An animal problem was reported at 10:47 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 1:25 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle.

●  Smoke from possible illegal burning was reported at 3:16 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

●  Theft of household items was reported at 3:55 p.m. on High Ridge Road, Town of Darlington. It remains under investigation.

●  Devin D. Maupin, 19, Apple River, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 4:28 p.m. on Cub Hollow Road, Town of Gratiot.

●  Gage A. Gilbert, 22, Elkhorn, was cited for speeding at 4:58 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

●  Deputies assisted Lafayette County Human Services with a welfare check at 6:25 p.m. on County M, Town of Wiota.

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with a civil dispute at 8:04 p.m. on Main Street in Darlington.

●  Dakota L.V. Schmitt, 19, Platteville, was cited for driving without a license and no vehicle insurance at 9:41 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.

●  Koby J. Dirks, 18, Dubuque, Iowa, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 10:42 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.

●  Lisa A. Chabotte, 46, Linden, was cited for no vehicle insurance at 11:09 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.

On Nov. 10:

●  A deputy located a suspicious vehicle at 5:47 a.m. on County G, Town of Belmont.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 7:43 a.m. on Lake Road, Town of Argyle.

●  A civil complaint regarding removal of property was reported at 1:15 p.m. on County G, Town of Blanchard. Blanchardville police assisted.
