Lafayette County Sheriff
On December 28:
● 11:26 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 23, Darlington Township for a one vehicle accident. Aaron J Lehman, 32, Monroe was traveling on STH 23 where he lost control, went into the ditch, and through a fence. No injuries were reported. Lehman’s 2016 GMC received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
● 5:21 p.m. A deputy responded to USH 151, Belmont Township for a one vehicle accident. Sadiki Yabeshi, 22, Baltimore was traveling on 151 where he lost control of his vehicle and slid off into the ditch. No injuries were reported. Yabeshi’s 2018 Honda received minor damage, was pulled from the ditch, and driven from the scene.
● 6:23 p.m. Tammy L Robinson, 50, Belleville was traveling on USH 151, Belmont Township. As a result, she was cited for Failure to Change Lanes for a Stopped Emergency Vehicle, OWI (1st), and Operation after Revocation. Robinson was arrested for Failure to Install IID and Felony Bail Jumping. Robinson was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where she was booked and remains.
On December 29:
● 6:59 p.m. Diane M Reed, 70, Brodhead reported striking a deer on STH 11, Wayne Township. No injuries were reported and Reed’s 2022 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
● 11:16 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH O, Shullsburg Township for a one vehicle accident. Kaleb M Oldfather, 26, Dyersville, IA was traveling northbound in a 2010 Ford when he struck a patch of ice and slid into the ditch, striking a pole. Oldfather denied injuries and his vehicle was towed from the scene with disabling damage.
On December 31:
● 1:29 a.m. A deputy responded STH 81, Seymour Township for a vehicle in the ditch.
● 1:34 a.m. A deputy responded to Prairie RD, Seymour Township for a vehicle in the ditch.
On January 1:
● 2:31 a.m. Green County EMS, Gratiot First Response, and a deputy responded to STH 78, Gratiot Township for a one vehicle accident. Coltin J Piefer, 29, Gratiot lost control of his vehicle and struck a pole in the ditch. Piefer denied injuries and his 2014 Cadillac received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. As a result, Piefer was arrested for OWI (2nd) and transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and released.
● 4:38 a.m. Argyle EMS and Argyle Fire Department responded to STH 81, Argyle Township for a one vehicle rollover. Rachel J Meyer, 26, Mineral Point was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Meyer’s 2003 Ford received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. A deputy assisted on scene.
● 5:13 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH F, Fayette Township for a one vehicle accident. Paul M Fass, 35, Darlington hit a post. No injuries were reported. Fass’s 2012 Jeep received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
● 4:59 p.m. Jodi R Fitzsimons, 48, Darlington reported striking a deer on Furnace Hill RD, Willow Springs Township. No injuries were reported. Fitzsimons’ 2019 Chevrolet received minor damage and was driven from the scene.
● 6:16 p.m. Kyrnan R Liske, 21, Walcott reported striking a deer on STH 11, Wayne Township. No injuries were reported. Liske’s 2008 Infiniti received minor damage and was driven from the scene.
● 6:44 p.m. Belmont Fire Department and Belmont EMS responded to CTH G, Belmont Township for a one vehicle accident. Greilin R Toj-Sajcap, 24, Shullsburg lost control of the vehicle and went into the ditch. Toj-Sajcap denied injuries and her 2010 GMC received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. As a result, Toj-Sajcap was cited for Expired Driver’s License. A deputy assisted on scene.
Monroe Police
On January 1, 2024:
● 12:59 p.m., officers arrested Kyle A. Ralph (37), Monroe, in the 200 block of 4th Avenue, on an apprehension request from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation & Parole for a probation violation. Ralph was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.
On January 5:
● 5:31 p.m., officers conducted a traffic offense stop in the 600 block of STH 69. The investigation led to the arrest of Alexis D. Nelson (38), Freeport, IL, on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a passenger under age 16-1st offense. Nelson was also cited for failure to properly maintain headlamps and failure to properly restrain a child aged 4-8. Nelson posted cash bail and was released to a responsible person pending a court appearance.
Monticello Police
On December 29, 2023:
● At approximately 1:00 a.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation in the 200 block of N. Main Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Michael K.W Ruf, 28, of Darlington, was arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated (OWI) 1st Offense. Ruf was cited for operating a motor vehicle left of the center line, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, operating a motor vehicle with suspended vehicle registration and possession of open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. Ruf was released to a responsible person after the incident. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
● At approximately 10:47 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Garfield Street for a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash. During the investigation, the offending vehicle was located and the vehicles owner was identified. As a result of the investigation, Santos David Sevillo Garcia, 35, of Monticello was cited for hit and run of an unattended motor vehicle under owners’ liability. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
On January 2, 2024:
● At approximately 11:11 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of STH 69 for an observed traffic violation. As a result of the traffic stop, Makaila O. Onsager, 18, of New Glarus was cited for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia, and keeping open intoxicants inside a motor vehicle as a driver. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
Green County Sheriff
On December 31, 2023:
● At 1:32 a.m., Deputies responded to the N2300 block of Bloom Ln Town of Clarno, for a reported disturbance. Investigations resulted in Kenin L Stewart Sr, 39, of Monroe, being arrested for bail jumping, theft, criminal damage to property, and disorderly conduct. Stewart was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending a court appearance. Monroe PD assisted with this incident.
● At 2:41 a.m., Deputies responded to the W2200 block of Zurfluh Rd, Town of Albany, for a report of a two vehicle accident. Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Kaleb J Uttech, 21, of Waterloo, WI, was eastbound on Zurfluh Rd when he lost control on the ice-covered roadway. Uttech’s vehicle entered the North ditch. A second vehicle operated by Kory M Tofte, 21, of Brooklyn was eastbound on Zurfluh Rd when it also lost control due to the ice-covered roadway. Tofte’s vehicle then collided with Uttech’s vehicle. Uttech and Tofte both denied injury and no airbag deployment. Both vehicles sustained damages and were towed from the scene. Tofte was arrested for operating while under the influence. Tofte was further cited for operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration, operating while suspended, and failure to keep vehicle under control. Tofte was released to a responsible party.
