Green County Sheriff

On Aug 18:

● At approximately 7:47 a.m., Deputies, Albany EMS, and the Monticello Fire Department, responded to the N6800 block of County Highway D., Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a single vehicle rollover crash with injury.  Investigation determined the operator, Fatima Rashid, 32 of Monroe, was traveling north on County Highway D, when it entered the gravel shoulder. Fatima attempted to re-enter the roadway, but over corrected and lost control. Fatima’s vehicle exited the roadway again and rolled several times, coming to a rest on it’s roof. Fatima was wearing her seatbelt, sustained minor injuries and was transported by EMS for evaluation. The vehicle sustained disabling damage, had airbag deployment and was towed from the scene. Fatima was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain control of her vehicle. 

● At approximately 12:57 p.m., Deputies, New Glarus EMS, and the New Glarus Fire Department responded to the W7000 block of County Highway H, Town of New Glarus, for a one-vehicle rollover crash. Investigation determined the operator, Lily — 16, was traveling west on County Highway H when her vehicle entered the ditch. Lily attempted to re-enter the roadway and over corrected, causing her to lose control of her vehicle. Lily’s car entered the ditch again and came to a rest on it’s side. The vehicle sustained functional damage and had airbag deployment. Lily reported no injuries and was evaluated by EMS. The vehicle was towed from the scene. 

● At approximately 12:04 a.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of Old Madison Rd. and State Highway 69, Town of New Glarus, for a report of a vehicle parked in the roadway. While Deputies were en route, Deputies learned that the vehicle began coasting across the highway and entered the east ditch of State Highway 69, becoming stuck. Investigation determined the operator and sole occupant, Kody D. Klitzke, 25 of Monticello, fell asleep at the wheel while at the stop sign on Old Madison Rd. Kody then released his foot from the brake pedal while asleep and coasted across the roadway, entering the ditch. Kody was not injured and the truck did not sustain any damage. Kody was subsequently arrested for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol — 2nd Offense and was jailed pending release to a responsible party. Kody was also cited for Failure to Maintain control of his vehicle. Kody’s truck was towed from the scene. 

On Aug 21:

● At approximately 1:54 a.m., Deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1100 block of 17th St, City of Monroe, for a defective registration lamp. As a result the driver, Randy L. Grossen, 66, of Monroe, was arrested for OWI-3rd. Grossen was additionally cited for defective registration lamps. Grossen was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

On Aug 21:

● At approximately 5:15 a.m., Deputies responded to the W2900 block of Jordan Rd., Town of Jefferson, for a report of a subject sleeping in a running vehicle. Investigation resulted in Larry A. Strothman, 35 of Juda, being placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol — 4th Offense. Larry was jailed pending his initial court appearance. 

● At approximately 11:52 a.m., Deputies responded to the W600 block of County Highway F., Town of Decatur, for a report of two vehicle crash.  Investigation determined that a vehicle being operated by David W. Gunderson, 73 of Winnebago, turned on to CTH F and began traveling east. A second eastbound vehicle being operated by Richard E. Pisz, 54 of Queen Creek, AZ, approached David and began following him closely. Richard was then “brake checked” by David. Richard then passed David, but upon merging back into the lane of travel, brake checked David in return, causing David to strike Richard’s vehicle. Neither driver was injured. Both reported wearing their seatbelts, there was no airbag deployment and both vehicles sustained functional damage. Richard was subsequently cited for Unsafe Cutting In and was released with a court date. 

On Aug 22:

● At approximately 1:48 p.m., Deputies responded to the 2800 block of 6th St, City of Monroe, to take Amy M Holst, 33, of Monroe, into custody for probation violations. Holst was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

● At approximately 4:12 p.m., Deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the W5200 block of State Highway 11, Town of Monroe.Investigations resulted in Julia S Krieger, 31, of Madison, being arrested for an active warrant. Krieger was further cited for possession of marijuana and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia  Krieger was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

On Aug 23:

● Deputies arrested Dale L. Finley, 40, in N2800 block of Youth Cabin Rd., in the Town of Monroe, for a felony warrant for Possession of a Schedule I Narcotic and Bail Jumping, through Green County. Finley was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending an initial court appearance. 

On Aug 24:

● At approximately 6:31 a.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of County Highway M and Hale Rd., Town of Cadiz, for a report of a one vehicle crash. Investigation determined the operator, Megan R. Christen, 40 of Browntown, was traveling south when she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Megan’s vehicle entered the south ditch and collided with an embankment. Megan reported wearing her seatbelt, not being injured an there was no airbag deployment. Megan was warned for failure to maintain control of her vehicle.

● At approximately 3:34 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the W5200 block of State Highway 11, Town of Monroe. Investigation resulted in the driver, Brayden Polzin, 19 of Beloit, being cited for Possession of THC — Less than 25 Grams. Brayden was released with a future court date. 

● At approximately 9:49 p.m., Deputies responded to the W9400 block of Bidlingmaier Rd., Town of Cadiz, for a report of a Domestic Dispute.  Investigation resulted in Dylan K. Riggle, 28 of Browntown, being placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property falling under the Wisconsin Domestic Abuse laws. Dylan was jailed pending his initial court appearance or posting of his bond. 

On Aug 24:

●   At approximately 6:42 a.m., Deputies responded to the Juda Oasis, W2616 State Highway 11, Town of Jefferson, for a vehicle that crashed into the building. Investigation determined the operator, Jose A. Colindres-Chacon, 35 of Rockford, parked his vehicle and entered the building. After entering the building, his vehicle rolled forward and collided with the store front. There were no occupants in the vehicle, there was no airbag deployment and it sustained functional damage. Jose was warned for operating without a valid license and was released to a valid driver. 

● At approximately 2:27 p.m., Deputies responded to the W5100 block of Weiss Ln., Town of Monroe, for a report of a single vehicle crash.  Investigation determined the operator, Jesse A. Zuelke, 46 of Monroe, was traveling west negotiating a curve when he entered the north ditch. Jesse traveled down an embankment, causing his truck to become stuck. The truck also struck a small, dead tree.  Jesse reported wearing his seatbelt, not being injured and there was no airbag deployment in the vehicle. The truck sustained functional damage and was removed from the ditch by a tow truck. Jesse was cited for Inattentive Driving and was released with a future court date.  

● At approximately 11:38 a.m., Deputies took Nathan W. Restivo, 43 of Monroe, into custody after he turned himself in at the Green County Jail for a warrant through Probation and Parole. Nathan was housed in the jail. 

On Aug 26

● Deputies responded to the N3400 block of CTH F, in the Town of Decatur for a one vehicle crash with no reported injuries. A vehicle operated by Carol A Welz of Monroe,77, was northbound on CTH F when she failed to negotiate a curve, went off the roadway, and entered a cornfield. Carol was not injured, and she was wearing her seatbelt. Her passenger, Diana K Severson of Monroe, 74, reported possible minor injuries, and she was wearing her seatbelt. Diana denied EMS. The vehicle sustained functional damage and there was no airbag deployment. Don’s Towing removed the vehicle from the ditch. The vehicle then drove from the scene. Carol was cited for Failure to Maintain Control of MV.

● While Deputies were conducting a traffic stop in the N5100 block of CTH N, in the Town of Washington, it was learned the driver, Dustin J. Olson, Monroe, 32, was on bond through the Lafayette County Circuit Court. As part of his bond conditions, he is not to drive unless he has a valid driver’s license. Olson’s driving status was suspended. Olson was cited for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driving status and arrested for bail jumping. Olson was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.

● While Deputies were conducting a traffic stop in the W5100 bock of STH 11 in the Town of Monroe, a passenger in the vehicle, Desean M. Weber, 18 of Springfield MO was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and possession of THC. Desean was jailed pending the posting of bond or an initial court appearance.


Brodhead Police

On July 25:

● 6:48 p.m., Police responded to the 600 block of 19th St. for the report of Disorderly Conduct; subjects involved in a verbal altercation. Contact was made and warnings were issued. 

On July 26:

● 6:17 a.m., Police responded to the 200 block of 17th St. for the report of Theft; a catalytic converter taken from a vehicle. This matter remains under investigation. 

● 10:14 a.m., Police responded to the 700 block of W 2nd Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; unregistered vehicles at the residence. No violation was located. 

● 10:16 a.m., Police responded to the 1000 block of 9th St. for the report of a Code Violation; a vehicle in violation of the City’s junk vehicle ordinance. Contact was made and a warning was issued.  

● 10:30 a.m, Police responded to the 1900 block of W 8th Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; subjects leaving items in another yard. This matter remains under investigation. 

On July 27:

● 1:31p.m., a juvenile was cited in the 700 block of 4th St. for Operation of ATV without Safety Certificate. 

On July 28:

● 10:18 a.m., Police responded to the 1900 block of W 8th Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; subjects leaving items in another yard. The property owner was contacted and will be removing the items. 

● 4:42 p.m., a 30 year old Brodhead woman was arrested in the 500 block of 14th St. on a warrant issued by the Green County Sheriff’s Office. She was also arrested for charges stemming from a 7-15-22 case for Domestic Disorderly Conduct, Resisting / Obstructing / Officer, Strangulation / Suffocation, Bail Jumping, Domestic Battery, Damage to Property, and False Imprisonment. 

● 4:55 p.m., Police responded to the 1200 block of 21st St. for the report of Harassment; a subject receiving unwanted messages. This matter remains under investigation. 

On July 29:

● 2:43 p.m., a 13 year old from Brodhead was cited in the 400 block of W 3rd Ave for Theft of Property following a report of a bicycle theft. 

● 3:06 p.m., Police responded to the 200 block of 8th St for the report of a Code Violation; loud music. Contact with individual was made at the residence and was advised to turn music down. 

On July 30:

● 6:29 p.m., a 35 year old Beloit man was cited for Speeding and a 32 year old Beloit woman was cited for Open Intoxicants in the 800 block of Green St following a traffic stop. 

● 9:11 p.m., Police responded to the 1100 block of 1st Center Ave for the report of Suspicious Activity; loud noises and subjects in area. Officers patrolled area, but were unable to locate any individuals in the area.

 ● 9:14 p.m., a 30 year old Albany man was cited in the 300 block of 19th St for Failure to Transfer Title and Failure to Display Plates. 

On July 31:

● 7:00 p.m., a juvenile was cited in the 1600 block of 1st Center Ave. for Theft and Underage Possession/Consumption of Alcohol. A second juvenile was also cited for Theft.  

● 7:17 p.m., Police responded to the 400 block of E 6th Ave. for the report of a Domestic Problem; subjects involved in a verbal disagreement. The parties were separated for the night and this matter is being referred to the Green County District Attorney’s Office. 

● 7:52 p.m., Police responded to the 1300 block of W 4th Ave. for the report of Disorderly Conduct; a subject causing a disturbance at a residence. Contact was made and the matter was resolved.  

● 8:25 p.m., a 65 year old Brodhead man was arrested in the 1300 block of 1st Center Ave. for Bail Jumping. 

● 11:16 p.m., Police responded to the 1600 W 5th Ave. for a Parking Violation; a semi blocking traffic. The driver was contacted the vehicle was moved. 


Monticello Police

On Aug 5:

● At approximately 8:45 p.m., Officers received a report of a motor vehicle that had been stolen in the 100 block of N. Main Street.  The vehicle was eventually recovered and a suspect has been identified.  The incident remains under investigation. This is a reminder not to leave your keys in your vehicle. 

On Aug 6:

● At approximately 10:33 a.m., Officers received a littering complaint from the Monticello recycling center.  A suspect was identified.  A written warning was issued for the incident.

On Aug 9:

● At approximately 5:28 p.m., Officers had a cell phone that was found near the Monticello Swimming Pool turned into them.  The owner was identified and the cell phone was returned to its owner.

On Aug 10:

● At approximately 7:15 p.m., Officers received a parking complaint in the 400 block of Summit Avenue.  A citizen reported that a truck and camper had been parked on the street for several days without moving.  A parking citation was issued.


Lafayette County Sheriff

On July 17:

● 12:58 a.m. A deputy responded to Spring ST in the City of Darlington to assist Darlington Police with a traffic stop.

● 2:42 a.m. A deputy responded to Main St in the City of Darlington to provide a courtesy ride.

● 5:17 a.m. Claudia L Hernandez, 22, Darlington was cited for Speeding on STH 11, Gratiot Township.

● 7:36 a.m. Shullsburg Fire responded to CTH O, White Oak Springs Township for a vehicle fire, no injuries reported. A deputy assisted on scene.

● 7:37 a.m. Anthony A Williams, 31, Platteville was cited for Speeding and Operating while Suspended on USH 151, Belmont Township.

● 8:24 a.m. A deputy responded to W Center St in the Village of South Wayne for a 911 misdial.

● 11:07 a.m. Pamela C Skoff, 62, Crystal Lake, IL was cited for Speeding on STH 23, Darlington Township.

● 11:57 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH Y, Wiota Township for check welfare.

● 12:48 p.m. A deputy responded to Dobbs Rd., Lamont Township for livestock on the roadway.

● 3:08 p.m. Darlington Fire responded to Tama Run Ln in the City for a tree fire. Darlington Police assisted with traffic control.
