On August 13:

● At 3:25 a.m., officers were called to the area of 19th Street and 16th Avenue for a report of a vehicle which was abandoned in the roadway. It was unknown if the vehicle was possibly involved in an accident. Further investigation indicated that the vehicle operated by Edgardo A. Escoto Ramirez, 28, Monroe, had been westbound on 16th Avenue in the 1700 block when it left the roadway and collided with a tree. The vehicle then came back on to the roadway in the 1800 block of 16th Avenue, where it became disabled. There were no reported injuries and the vehicle sustained major front-end damages, requiring towing. Ecoto Ramirez was cited for operating without a valid driver’s license, having no proof of insurance, and failure to notify police of an accident. Escoto Ramirez was released pending a court appearance.
