Lenore R. Moen, age 87, of Monroe, WI, formerly of Argyle, WI, peacefully passed away Monday, March 22, 2010, at Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, WI, surrounded by her family. She was born July 17, 1922, in South Wayne, WI, to Earl and Louise (Olson) Phillips. Lenore was united in marriage to Erling Moen on November 19, 1942, in Blanchardville, WI. She lived and farmed with her husband until 1964 when they moved in to Argyle where she has resided since. Lenore also worked at Oaktron Industries for five years, but was known as a devoted wife and mother. She was the heart of her family. Lenore devoted her entire life to raising her family and then later on helping raise her many grandchildren.

Lenore is survived by her seven children: Wesley Moen and Ruth Boss both of Argyle, Charles (Jen) Moen of Pleasantville, IA, Robert (Diana) Moen of Monroe, Donald Moen of Albany, WI, Richard Moen of New Glarus, WI, and Shirley (Gary) Eidsmoe of Blanchardville; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Louise; her husband: Erling on December 28, 1986; one daughter: Sherry in 1967; three sisters: Florence and Erma Phillips and Lola Strauss; and one brother: Melvin Phillips. Lenore was the last member of the Phillips' family.

Lenore was a member of Argyle Lutheran Church in Argyle. She enjoyed attending to others and serving in her community.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Argyle Lutheran Church, 100 East Street in Argyle with Rev. John Shep officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in rural Argyle. A visitation will be held Thursday, March 25, 2010, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
